With the upcoming buff to the SCR's effective range, will the SCR be getting either a scope, or a more powerful sight?
Since the SCR is effectively a DMR (designated marksman rifle), it would make sense for it to have an ACOG (4x zoom) or Holographic sight (1.5x - 2x zoom) at the least. Don't get me wrong, the current RDS on the SCR is beautiful and works well, but due to the range buff and our new ability to kill at longer ranges, it would just make sense to have a more powerful scope/sight. If the RDS is kept, due to the awful rendering and draw distance of DUST, enemies at the effective range will likely not show and somewhat stunt the SCR's new-found range abilities.
Now why the SCR did not come with an ACOG or Holographic sight in the first place is beyond me. The TAR came with an ACOG and the upcoming Rail Rifle is also coming with an ACOG. The weapon that is supposed to fill the "Tactical" role for some reason came with a RDS, no offense CCP, but that makes very little sense.
Think about it this way, while you can put an RDS on an MK11, short range CQC is not the MK11's true role, you'd be more effective putting an ACOG on it. The same goes with the SCR. The SCR is not designed for CQC so it would be better off with an ACOG or Holographic sight to enforce the fact that is a tactical weapon a la DMR.

Dont get your hopes high, if ScR gets a range buff while retaining it's RoF, no recoil, and damage, it'll be no different than pre-nerf TAR with added heat mechanic and little to no recoil. |

It's be like the Tac AR, but lower RoF, more recoil, overheat mechanic, not very effective against armor etc...

The SCR has a higher ROF than the TAR.

HWat should happen is CCP should be looking at the use of modGÇÖed controllers with the SCR. It seems the FOTM weapon is running into the same issues as the TAR of old. Several Russian Corp members have been spotted firing their SCR like a ASCR. Does nobody have any honor?

I hope so. It feels very weird at the moment, to have the Tactical rifle displaying less range and less zoom than a tactical variant of an automatic rifle.

I sure hope not, having a scope that has twice the range then the current version will mean it will also have twice the recoil, the gun is perfect as it is, the Tac has less range and more scope so it can fill that niche, we have less scope but more range.
If you want range + scope get a sniper rifle, leave my SCR alone!
