I have proto an I've dropped it for gallente ,there is no comparison, if your new drop the minja ASAP.
With speed not being fast enough, armor not having a passive generator like all the minmatar suits, only two lows it's a speed suit that can't survive like before, a gallente is faster an has room for endurance an a dampener.
The knives work just as bad on both suits so the minja has no real bonus, if it was 25% damage to all weapon maybe, but having 25% damage to a weapon that only works on people sitting still is no weapon!
Not to mention, it loses a low slot for a profile dampener,arm rep or plate or range, which makes a speed suits lower .
I mean how do you effectively knive a guy slowly an visible to radars.?
1.1 no problem 20+ knife assassin work, now..... Shields drop so fast an with 70 base armor that doesn't regenerate you lose your scanner/ equip slot for a compact rep hive, which sucks because you have no where near the gallentes possible range.
For a scout all modals should be able to swap spots or something, or have more slots, I mean everything a scout needs is a low slot.

Kinetic

Reps
Shield regulators
High slot
Shield
Damage
Useless percision mod to a minmatar
Melee( useless cuz u loses shields an our base mellee sucks)
So there ya have it.
Too much catch 22 fitting this suit also to add the 30 HP difference between them and CPU pg differences, minjas need love. |

Agreed. I personally, would put up with the Min Scouts deficiencies if it were simply faster. CCP nerfed our speed due to hit detection. We need our speed back, now that hit detection has drastically improved. |

First off, I am tired of everyone saying Gallente is faster. It can certainly equip more Kin Cats to make itself faster, sure. No argument there. But, on a pure dropsuit, Minmatar is just a little bit faster. In fact, that is their only advantage.
That being said, I have been using the Minnie Scout since I first started playing in open beta, and as time goes on I realize more and more the mistake I made there.
Gallente Scouts are definitely the way to go for now, unfortunately. Minnie's just can't compete. Gallente has more CPU, more slots for biotics, dampeners, and range amplifiers, and as far as the racial bonus goes, well, the knives are just broken, plain and simple.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with you on the vast majority of this. Especially if you're just starting out, Minmatar Scouts just aren't a viable option.
Hopefully this will change sometime in the future, if CCP hears my prayers

I have an alt skilled into minnie/shotty and it's a joke. I run profile dampeners, damage mods, run around hacking stuff and hoping no one sees me. Gallente is definitely the way to go.

Agreed . I love my minja but that is absolutely not a rational choice. Gallente is the far better scout, imo.
Minjas need speed, stealth and CPU. And wallclimbing ;) |

Minmatar Scout needs a huge button on the skill tree that says SORRY WE HAVEN'T REALLY THOUGHT THIS THROUGH and when you press it you get all the skill points you invested in it back again. |

Your probably right, I just can't see how they could see it as a viable suit now, given all the game changes it's best fix is to dual tank it an stay with your squad or low armor tank an high damage, or go mega fast an sg with damage mods.
But personally I now see the vitality in a AR ARMOred gallente scout |
