This proposed great migration doesn't happen when a new console releases. It's first gen anyway. That's a gamble purchase in itself. |

Not being an ass, but really no one cares. When PS4 releases, it will be kids flooding COD servers and BF4 servers. Under all that, Dust will continue on. They said the same thing when GTAV came out.

One cannot be certain unless one is a time traveler. Playerbase will dwindle...that is inevitable. As far as it dwindling to obscurity, no. As far as Dust just dying because PS4 released, no.
Dust will get new players. Not everybody is selling off their PS3 to Gamehustlestop to get PS4. There isn't a great migration of gamers and PS3 is left with only 4 gamers. Plus, in every generation, some kid always say what you say. |

What is funny, is that Microsoft is responsible for 60%+ of the "gamble" stigma as the Red Ring of Death scandal shot around. My 360 was hit by it, but they refused to replace it... Actually its not a stigma. Techies know that first generation is problematic.
Also, let me remind you that each first generation of a console had its share of problems. Let's not turn this into a flame war.
When Playstation One first arrived, it was 300 bucks...and the fan was known to short out. This is when us gamers were known to put our consoles on the carpet floor. Of course this caused fires because the PSX ran so hot. The second generation corrected that problem. |
