I will not be buying a PS4 this year but I probably will in time for the Destiny Beta in the spring. I will probably keep the PS3 around for a bit but my playing time will be dependent upon how much I enjoy the PS4 games.
While the PS4 will not be the death knell for Dust, it will definitely have more of an impact than other PS3 games will. GTA and BF4 are still on the PS3 so its easy for players to switch back and forth. As Dubs has said, its going to much more difficult to get players to boot up different systems (or keep an old system) just for a few games.
People will be slowly migrating to the PS4 but there will be a point where it reaches the point where Dust will truly suffer if it does not migrate. PS3's will not last forever. When they begin to break down people will either chose to fix an outdated platform or just invest in a PS4.
The bigger question is whether CCP will give themselves enough lead time to begin development for the PS4 before players move on.

Considering most of the people making the argument for the PS4 were 12 years old when the PS3 came out, I don't take your argument for the PS4 seriously.
"Youre like a small child that wanders into a theatre, no frame of reference!"
Furthermore, if we look historically at major platform launches they are always plagued with shortages, bugs and increase demand which increases the price. You really should get over the hype of the "new hotness" look at GTA5, crap. BF 4 which really is BF 3.5 and Call of DOOTY. It's all crap fed down our throats by developers that are just trying to get their product out. PS4 is going to be no different.
Don't contribute to mindless consumerism by adding fuel to this argument. The people that enjoy dust the most don't sway off the path of Dust because of new hyped out game. The bottom line is, nothing that will be released on the PS4 will replace Dust 514, at least no time soon. Even if that does happen, by the time it does, Dust will probably have been ported over.
Quit worrying about the future and enjoy the present. If that is to hard for you, then go find something else to do.
Again, its not so much worrying about the initial release of the PS4, its about the development lead time to actually port it over. Its not something that they can hotfix in a month.
Im sure that many people would feel a lot easier if CCP just said "We are aware of what is needed to port Dust over to the PS4 and have a team ready to begin that project once we deem it necessary for the health of the game. At this current time, we feel that a port at the release of the PS4 would be more detrimental to the community than beneficial. Rest assured, once that changes, we will let you know about the timeline for the port well ahead of time"

It will be interesting to see how Destiny works as, last I heard, it will be cross-platform and cross-generation. Of course, they have also said that players will only see 'pockets' of other players to avoid mobs in certain areas so they can probably segregate the platforms that way.
Im still concerned about how Dust can actually evolve on the PS3. I would be much more comfortable if CCP said that they actually believe that they can implement more MMO, PvE and larger matches within the constraints of the PS3. Just adding new content and tweaks here and there is not going to keep the game alive in the long run.
