I would like to see the FW contract system go like this.
1. You would sign up for a factional contract for extended periods of time. Im thinking a tour of duty contract 30 days at a time. During this time you will only be allowed to fight for the faction you chose and their ally. Possibly limit the amount of fighting you are allowed to do for the allied faction based on how much WP you have earned on behalf of your faction.
I would like to see all characters that sign up for these "Tour Contracts" moved to a highsec staging system in New Eden. For example have a Caldari merc get moved to Nourv with all the other Cal mercs. Also create a Caldari chat channel called "State Peacekeepers Operations/HQ/High Command" where all Cal mercs can coordinate. This would ideally remove the public contract randomness feel by allowing everyone to see the names involved with your faction, chat with them, etc.
2. When you are queuing up with your squad you should be able to see what battles are being generated 5 to 10 minutes before they start and this is how you can choose which system you want to fight for. Having this option coupled with the FW chat channel will allow corps to work together and coordinate. If one faction gets 12 or more mercs in a specific battle, this will have to be defended and limit the opposing sides options until the defense is queued up.
Clicking on the FW contract battle finder would bring you to a screen with upcoming battles, current battles and past battles with results, kill counts, battle mvps, and whatever relevant or not so relevant stat that might have an effect on morale. Maybe seeing ANONYMOUS destroy a friendly match will get peoples games up and running.
Thanks for reading, cheers eh. |

Forgot to add something. By accepting longer "Tour Contracts" and by repeatedly extending your tours, you will be given bonuses to LP gain and maybe a semi useless rank system like eve has by being active and earning WP for your faction. I would say the max bonus would be an extra 60% gain over 12 months of repeated extensions of tour contracts. So every month you earn 5% more Loyalty Points for staying loyal to your faction until the one year cap.
As far as ranks go.. I believe the system in eve is if you kill a higher ranking officer you earn more LP. So if you were to kill a "field marshall" or "general" you would earn more WP for that kill than if you were to wipe out a "scrub" or "private". |

bump. I understand there's bigger issues like TTK and whatnot but I think we need more game modes. Making a bigger contrast between FW and public matches would help. |

Bump. Another thought : this makes you less of a merc and more of a soldier. So some slight immersive things like having your factions logo on the shoulder of your dropsuits. Have dogtags that you can pick up as salvage at the end of the match that can be traded into the LP store for goodies. Have the warbarge lady say some propoganda-esque stuff about the two warring factions.
If you have FW immersive ideas post them up please. ;-) |
