Aim assist is starting to annoy me tbh. Imho it kinda ruines the game for the kb/m users (yeah, I know they are not loved much around here, please spare me the ds3 vs mouse debate). Playing this game with a mouse just feels more frustrating than ever: While I struggle with the crappy frame trying to get my aim on target, everyone else is shooting self guided bullets at me and I get killed as soon as I pop my head out of cover.
Making this game run with an acceptable framerate would go a long way in alleviating this situation. But something tells me this won't happen before Dust is finally ported to PC or next gen years from now. In the mean time, might as well turn down the aim assist a little, or drastically increase TTK so the kb/m users get some time to react and land a few hits before they are shredded by a hail of bullets homing in on them. |

It should always be buff hit detection. The game required more skill before hit detection was "fixed" in 1.6.
Now it's just whoever sees who first kills them.
I, personally, would rather have faulty hit detection and a game that takes skill than good hit detection that only relies on stacking HP.

Try ADS, you will notice that the dispersion on the assault scrambler makes it damn near useless past 30 meters...
The AR has pinpoint accuracy out past it's optimal.

Here's an absolutely insane idea.
Decrease the AA as your weapon tier gets higher.
Example: Militia AR: Leave AA as it is Adv AR: Reduced AA Proto AR: Very little AA
Also, have damage mods apply a slight penalty to AA.
The more damage you do, the more skilled you need to be since the computer will be doing less and less aiming for you.
This would increase TTK, still give noobs a chance, and not punish skilled players.
CCP already encorporated something similar with dropships. The militia dropship now auto-levels itself, but once you upgrade to advanced, the training wheels come off.

I don't generally use the standard AR, unless it's a CQC map. I dislike the AR.

A SCR range will tear your head off. Skilled up, it kills you just as fast as a Duvolle if not faster. The damage and rapid fire of its shots will sit you down flicking your finger between your lips like you wear dunce caps to school.
But we want to constantly, over and over again talk about ARs are the problem. I beg to differ... |

Nerf the AR, Nerf the SCR, Remove Aim Assist, Buff hit detection.
If aim assist stays as is, the SCR and AR need a 30% damage nerf.
If aim assist is removed entirely, the AR still needs recoil/dispersion, and the ScR *might* still need a nerf (we'll see after the overheat bypass glitch is patched). |

AR, ScR, SMG, (probably the new rifles based on the stats) need a significant base DPS nerf. ARs need a little kick (less than what the AScR has) and need to be turbo-proof. Keep AA, it's very weak compared to other games and is in-line with people's expectations of a console shooter. Improve KB/M. Boost LR range to 120m. Speed up the Plasma Cannon projectile speed. Make grenades only restockable at supply depots. Limit equipment spamming to x units per character. Keep improving hit detection. If CCP does all of this, I think the core gameplay will be in a solid, fairly-balanced place.
