That was a great video, presented neatly and wasn't confusing at all.
Thanks for highlighting the little issues with visibility with passengers too and first person view too.
Personally I think that CCP are very close to the perfect camera in 1.6, and probably won't have to tweak it too much any more. In both my Logistics and Assault dropship I am performing much better in terms of reactions to threats and locating them.
Once again, great comparison. Really opened my eyes to the differences and what changes each patch.
I would be for the solution of making dropships semi-transparent, and also those suggestions you made in the video about flight instruments for first person view as well as different indicators on AV users would be amazing.
To dropships!

On a related note, what would you think of having different angles for the ADS and the other types of dropship?
To the extent where each dropship variant has a camera designed for its purpose BUT a pilot can choose between them with the Neocom settings, then yes. If we're limited to having a different camera for each dropship variant without being able to toggle between them to select the one we prefer somehow, I think it'd be better to keep a uniform camera angle across all dropships.
However, I will note that if we cannot switch between camera angles and each dropship variant has a unique angle, it could lead to people specialising in one variant, which could be interesting.

If first person view included threat indicators showing where AV is (threata are highlighted by a circle around them or something like that), contains flight instruments such as an altimeter and an artificial horizon, and if the mechanics of flight weren't so awkward (not sure how to fix this though, I've seen some interesting suggestions but don't really know if any are perfect), then I probably would stay in first person view. Oh and the ability to, instead of a rear view, look inside the cabin and see if people have deployed, or have that little dropship passenger slot indicator as a part of first person view, but not centered like it is in third person, perhaps above where ammo usually is.
