Dissclaimer: my observations might be premature, they might tweak their fits and get better.
I've had to listen to the Cal logi being OP since launch, even after the nerf l've still heard it. After awhile, its been just logis are OP in general. I couldn't care less about the average forum scrub, but l've also been hearing it a lot from good players l know and trust, all being specced into various assault suits. So its been a little hurtful l must admit, everybody claiming in vague non offensive frases that its the suit, not my skill that matters......
At this stage several guys have just gotten their second protosuits, mostly the Gallente suit with the usual armor tank and the proto rep hive. I got my second suit some time ago, a Cal assault suit which l use 99% of the time. I said when l got it that the logi suits being better than the assault suits are greatly exaggerated, mostly by assault players.
So what happened to my friends who finally got their much sought after logi suits? Did they get more kills? Did they get a better KDR?
Well so far its been going downhill. As l've said all along, they've greatly underestimated the effect of the difference in speed and not least the more rapid HP gain. So confronting one player at roughly my level of skill after he went 5-2 in a pub ambush, he said: - This suit is so damned slow, l can't get around fast enough to rack up the kills. Perhaps l should have picked the Cal logi suit like you. I said: - l'm not using that, l've been using the cal assault like you have since launch, its much better for pub games than my logi suit, unless if l wanna farm WPs, which l don't. Butt "playerX" didn't you get 250 more HP now? He said: - So what? Its not like the fatsuits are dominating due to having 500 more Ehp.....
Well the discussion went on, and it gave me great pleassure to get to say: "l told you so!"
Yes it can be argued that the logi suit can get a better setup purely in terms ehp and dps which makes them better for a static 1 vs 1. They are also much more adaptable, which they sshould be. Personally l use mine for CBs and when l am the proper kind of drunk and bring out my MD, in any normal game you'll see me in my assault suit, its just better for slaying IMO.
Let the flaming begin...

My current setup(s) are not for the public, l have a feeling that most players fit their suits, well, not ideally.

Takahiro Kashuken wrote:Didnt OP skill into the Cal logi in the 1st place when it was the better suit? Yes l did from launch when my main focus was PC and a support/slayer hybrid role. If l'm told my uplinks aren't needed, l'll gladly use my assault suit for CBs, and l have, with good results.

Assualt suits need buffed.
So much fail.
My Logi suit has 950 HP and my assault suit has 919, and its 0.4 m faster when walking and 0.6 m faster when running. That speed difference more than makes up for the extra 31 hp...... if you have a good strafe speed that is...

(However I use a cardiac reg, because I like jumping a lot) I dissagree so much, the cal logi needs a proto shield regulator and a basic bunny hop extender just to be equal in stamina and shield regen, thats the 2 extra high/low slots already spent....

Edit; you wrote gal assault, l thought you wrote cal assault, my bad. I compare the two Caldary ssuits against each other, those are the two l have, and thus are the basis of my claim.... Most Cal Assault fits I see use an armor rep to repair their armor. And you get that for free with logis, so hey, free slot. So the slot difference for assaults and logis to match each other in the caldari variants narrows to 1. However, Cal Logi has an extra low slots over a Cal Assault, so it narrows to 0. So now the suits are equal, but the Cal Logi has 3 equipment in addition to that. Seems legit. Do you mix em up? Anyways, the number of slots aren't interresting without looking at the core stats aswell, yes the assault suit needs an armor repper, but the logi suit needs a cpu uppgrade to be viable, and it goes on...
My logi suit has twice the armor rep speed, and more equipment, its definately the best alround suit of the two, but not as a pure slayer. If l only could have one, l'd use the logi.
Another point is that my logi fit cost almost twice as much isk, and l still prefer the assault suit....
