So currently the active scanner is picking up equipment placed. My idea is simple, a dampened variation of the drop uplink to somewhat hide possible incursions.
It would have the same animation and sound as the current ones so it can still be detected both visually and audibly however would not show up on the radar from an active scanner.
The ones we have now work perfectly fine but finding a sneaky place to put one down to avoid it getting destroyed is still a little bit pointless since an enemy can scan, "oh there it is" boom.
I'm thinking it would require drop uplinks 4 at least, maybe some dampening level to go with it? Probably the full spawn time as a draw back for it being dampened or a lower spawn amount and 2 carried 1 deployed at a time.

I'd rather just see a lower profile for equipment in general, but if you have the proper scanner then you can detect that tier of equipment.
For example, if you use ADV equipment, you have to use an adv scanner to detect it. An advanced scanner wouldn't be able to pick up prototype equipment, but a prototype scanner would.
THEN we can add equipment variants that would be resistant to the same tier. For instance ADV level uplink that can only be detected by prototype scanners.
If I was going to balance this equipment, it would have a higher cpu/pg cost, similar to the assault variant on some weapons.

Yeah I agree with this implementation. +1 |
