So i've noticed that with all suits, std, adv, and proto tiers of the same type, all have the same scan profile.
Would it not make more sense that an adv suit would have less of a scan profile than a std suit?.
Say, -5 scan profile per tier lvl? Just using that number as an example.

Nope, just like they have the same HP, stamina, speed, shield parameters, etc... only the fitting statistics (number of slots and CPU / PG) change and that's just fine, in my honest opinion

I agree w/ Keri. And I don't use a scanner, but I am a scout.
The suits have identical stats as tiers progress, with the exception of CPU/PG and slot count so I don't think it would make much sense. It would be a nice bonus, no doubt, but with the extra slots you can always fit a dampener.
I also like the fact that you need to compromise a low slot if you want additional dampening, or compromise your SP by investing it into profile dampening which can give you a straight 10% reduction to the profile of all of your suits.
As a scout one of the bonuses of using light frame suits is the lower precision which means that suits like yours show up on our passive scans. We don't get much passive bonuses (and we have a lot of negatives) so to make one of our few useful features less useful by allowing medium and heavy suits to circumvent them without the use of modules is a bit of a hard pill to swallow. |

This is not a discussion about the Scanner. You asked if it would make more sense to have tiered profiles and I gave you my opinion.
Not only it doesn't make sense, but it would break the purpose of the "Infiltrator", giving base Profile Dmpening to suits that are not meant to be stealthy. If you want to be a ninja or an infiltrator, you should do something concrete about it, such as going Scout or running Dampeners, rather than getting a free basic bonus which doesn't really make sense.
That said, I would like a buff to Profile Dampeners, so if you want to play this kind of role, you don't have to sacrifice multiple low slots. This is a better idea to promote Dampening and it would directly buff those people instead of giving a bonus which I don't deserve if I play a tanked Logi/Assault suit or a Heavy.

Wise words. Dampening could use a buff, but only for people actively playing that role. Giving away basic bonus would actually penalize the true Scouts or Medium Frame Infiltrators. |
