With the new changes to hit detection, ive felt allot more need to pull out a grenade when i run into a blob vs killing them outright. The problem is, after 9 months and 19 days, KBM people still cant use grenades effectively.
We still need to either hold down X to cook a grenade, and while we are cooking, we cannot strafe to right, witch is D, both are controlled by the same finger and no using any of the other fingers is nigh impossible.
We need our grenade button to be on the mouse so we can actually AIM where we are throwing that thing, in other FPS i can do pretty well with them (and they arent as powerfull there as here) but here if i need to use one in a pinch youll see (Rei Shepard has committed Suicide).
Because either i couldnt move properly and died holding it or throwed it and it came back in my face.
I know its only been 10 months, but when can we see a proper KBM keybind that is holding me back on the battlefield, especially since Lolcusts are so powerfull and i havent been able to use them.
Also equipment needs work with KBM, i need to roughly take 5-8 tries to get out a hive, its anoying and completely destroys my momentum i had and when i finaly get to deploy it someome flanks me because it took 10 seconds of trying to fiddle it out in the open.

Hey Rei,
I just bound the keystroke "X" to the thumb button on my mouse. If your mouse supports this, I recommend trying it out.

1. KB&M scrubs need get to the back of the line in the complaint department 2. Its called using 5 fingers... one of the major advantages to using KB&M is right there in front of you and you're not using it, but instead complaining? Do you even play PC FPSes? |

Everyone uses different configurations that they feel comfortable with. I personally use the arrow keys in right side of they keyboard and the Numpad for functions. I been using the same configuration for many years, i'm sure other people have their own configurations that they use all the time. |

Inst supported, my thumbbuttons normally either control Numpad or 1 trough 0 with a switch, this isnt supported on the PS3.

Oh wow DS3 scrub giving the "how to use KBM" speach, Ill start taking notice of you guys when you can play shooters without your training wheels.
Ive played FPS's since Wolfenstein on pc, its called having custom keymapping ability, i know for you guys this must look like magic.

Even back in the UT days, we could keybind differently. I use "we" loosely because I used to be a PC FPSer before calming down to the casual FPSes of "these days" and lazing around on consoles.
(Sidetracking:) My saying to people: If you don't know what a Flak Cannon is, you're too young to even know what "competitive shooter" means.
If you think Plasma Rifles take skill to use and are fine as they are, you are the problem.

If you could bind keys and it supported side mouse buttons, I'd use KB&M. I just cant get used to the controls as they are.
Also, I know it's still not a great, but have you tried using your thumb for pressing X? You can't jump whilst cooking, but at least you can strafe.

Like i said, i have roughly 60% motor control in both hands, due to having had carpal tunnel syndrome and kept playing with it until i had to retire from FPS games altogether and almost pc games altogether, my hands also feel like they are swollen 24/7 while they are not so this gives less tactile sense.
I started playing FPS games again like 3 years ago when my carpal tunnel got better, but ive suffered nerve damage because of not quiting soon enough. It came to a point where i had to put my hands in cold water for 5 minutes to play 15 minutes, thats when i quit FPS games.
Getting back into it trough APB R and now Dust has been quite the ordeal with unvolentary twitches and unresponsive hands to small aim adjustments for the first year, but fast complex adjustments are still a no go for me.

Honestly would rather have the sensitivity/aiming issue fixed before mapping...
Aiming effectively > Key mapping
Both would be nice but that's asking CCP for to much..

Same here, dude. But last I checked, a console controller doesn't have the advantage of custom key mapping. Do you ever see League of Legends players use a controller for that very reason? The list of advantages that KB&M has in FPS are to many to list. I've been using KB&M for over 20 years, I know its better than DS3. I played DUST with KB&M all the way up to Uprising 1.2, so don't assume sh*t. The only problem with KB&M on DUST is the fact the game runs 5-10fps Unlike most people, I can admit to when something that I'm using is OP, or that a broken mechanic helped me win a gun fight, or lag was working in my favor...
Typical FOS player logic: If it doesn't workout in my favor, its everyone/everything's fault but my own. If it works out in my favor, its strictly because I'm such a good player... |

Dude, you are overeacting, all i am asking for is a mouse keybind for X and a workable equipment selector, currently taking about equipment is an excersize in extreme patience.
On another note, KBM went to complete sh*t when 1.2 hit, you jumping ship to a DS3 just on that day ...coincidence ...not really....
But LAST I checked, most games have multiple controller shemes for controller users, its not totally custom, but theres ussually something for everyone, right now for me its impossible to toss grenades.
Its also awesome that you looked straight passed the points where i said that i cant operate my kayboard as i did before i got Carpal Tunnel
Anyways, everyone that advocates how awsome KBM is these days, has used KBM for the passed 20 years, but for Dust they are using a controller....yeah ...no don't think so.
Its an FPS game, they allow KBM, it should work like KBM, not this BS we are getting.
