I did a very basic test, emptying my clip on the logi dropsuit and the Assault dropsuit. With the Logistics, it would overheat with 28/29 rounds left. With the Assault, it came out 24/25. I ran it a few times but saw little variation between the two so it must, to some degree? Is it the entire 5% per rank? With level 3 in the assault suit, at 15% bonus and level 4 in the scrambler rifler skill, would the difference really only be 4 rounds?
I guess I'm being incredibly lazy by not crunching the math myself but I'm curious if at proto levels I'll see a significant bonus. With the lasers themselves it's definitely a nice bonus. You should actually be able to shoot around 24 rounds when spamming the trigger. The Amarr Assault allows you to shoot a charge shot + 8 or so more followup shots. Without the Amarr Assault bonus, you will overheat after around 3 followup shots. It's not the best bonus, in my opinion, but at least it's not completely useless (ahem, minmatar assault, ahem).
That over heat theory may be true for adv not sure, but I know for a fact when using the proto ( Imperial scr ) rifle on my caladari assault, I get at least 5 or 6 shots after a charge shot before over heat not 3. I do have 5 prof though.
When your playing dust and your frustrated...if all else fails...turn off the ps3 works every time.

I do have 5 prof though. Yeah I pulled the numbers out of my ass. Just did some actual testing and I can shoot 12 additional rounds after one charge shot with amarr assault.
I meant i'm 5 operations not prof btw, I was wondering how many more shots amarr assault got for sure though, nice to know. Thnx protocake, good info bro, i'll make a mental note of it. +1 for the informative post.
