DUST Search - Who think's CCP can pull off Dust on PS3?

I knew CCP had a lax attitude to development but the Eve team comes through when it counts.

But the way the Dust team has handled this game is almost criminally incompetent.

Still not even the BASIC set of suits, vehicles and weapons available.

Still no commander mode.

No chance of any other vehicles like fighters or mechs.

And don't even bother asking about boarding because it won't be coming for YEARS.

You've got better hope of them implementing the commander mode which would make this game a thousand times better than it is now (But they won't implement it even though it was the first thing they had ready).

I was convinced that the last six months of silence was because they were porting this to the PS4 which would atleast make it easier to program for and better hardware to cover the poor optimization.

But they've now admitted that over the last six months they've been doing little else but balancing... I mean it's absolutely crazy!

In that amount of time they should be able to do those things except maybe the 50v50, I never bought into that. The other things yes. Now that they have a good bit of the tech stuff working much better and they have some experience with the PS3 architecture we may see some new stuff hit quickly. I don't want to be a total fanboy but I do think that they can do it if given the time and money. They have been working on the core mechanics for a while and made huge leaps compared to a year ago. If they stay on the the same path then they should start to roll out monthly content releases instead of fixes. Dr. Gonzo: I hate to say this, but this place is getting to me. No one ever said that about their other game that is still active and growing. The one that just turned 10. They would be fools to move to the PS4 right away. You don't throw a 80 million strong potential player base away for an unproven console with low numbers. Let's say there is 20,000 active players in a pool of 80m consoles. That is a 0.00025 adoption rate. If the PS4 sold 10m the first day with the same adoption rate then it would add 2500 players. I'm being optimistic on the adoption rate and number of PS4s sold. I have had little sleep so math may be wrong but the point still stands. If you have to choose which players to aim for would it be 80 million or 2 million? Think about it. Then hardware becomes arbitrary. Why? Because DUST514 will be streamed and GAIKAI will do all the hardware lifting, it will depend soley on your network connection. his means that CCP can develop DUST514 without bounds. Will GAIKAI be on Ps3 and PS4? It is definitely coming to PS4, but an app for PS3 is possible and very likely. I want to say that the latency would be too much.
