I know the feeling. For all of the jokes about AR514 you'd think the devs would be a little more sensitive to skewing the balance further down that road, and this is again just casually tossed out in a maintenance update. How can anyone be expected to invest in this game when time and again, with no warning, the goalposts shift dramatically, and take a year to move back again.
That said, this is the game that, on receiving the monthly statistic printout that says 99% of people are using assault rifles, decides to fast-track the release of another three of them. |

The hit detection fixes have augmented the already maddening bias toward assault rifles. The number of shots that magically connect, multiplied by the generous auto-aim, with increased strafe speeds thrown in to make dancing on the spot a legitimate close range tactic again, means there is really no reason to use anything other than a spray and pray weapon.
This wouldn't be quite as bad if everyone could just pick one up and roll with it, but it's just another kick in the nuts for anyone who believed the game had more to offer than that and distributed skill points accordingly. |

He's referring to the fact that time to kill in this game has been reduced to practically nanoseconds. And some people don't enjoy that. Like he said, he doesn't want to play a twitch shooter, which Dust is right now. GG CCP on improving the hit detection issues, now get the hell started on balancing the game with actually working hit detection in mind.
I do wonder if 'working hit detection' is actually just as sketchy as before but over-compensated in our favour. I've had more than one instance where I've let rip with a shotgun almost completely out of view of someone and had the shot hit like a dead-centre aim. Could just be lag. Could also be not. |
