For now, the scrambler looks like the best AR type weapon at the moment. Good range, high power, and excellent synergy with the king of sidearms, the SMG. Take out their shields from afar and melt their armour up close.

I have almost 2 mil SP unallocated and ready for the new Minmatar Combat Rifle. I'm not going to touch the burst variety, but the full automatic versions sound like a nice upgrade to the Ishkone Assault SMG that I like to use as a primary despite the range limitations. The burst and charge-up weapons are simply not as fun as spraying bullets at 1000 rounds a second, and 1200 will be just that much better. ( I know spray and pray offends FPS elitists, but I don't care.) |

I might not have any SP saved up to go very far with it though. Too many other things to spend SP on before then. It looks like you'll have to get under the range of the Scrambler but once there it should tear them up.
