Plain and Simple.
GÖª While in a Scout Fit : CQ weapons and Side arms get a BACKSTAB BONUS.
GÇóShotguns GÇóSMG GÇóNova Knives GÇóScrambler Pistols GÇóFlaylock Pistols
(and all soon to come CQ weapons and sidearms)
Get a x2 Damage bonus if the damage inputs on the enemy's BACK.
This would help a lot scouts that actually get good sneak attacks on enemies all the time but FAIL to drop them because of the massive HP/Damage output potential.
Also giving scouts at ADVANTAGE doing something....say , you can run a Minmatar Logis Scout fittied but your shotgun will be a normal shotgun all the time, the scout's will hit instead of 40 Dm, 80 if its a sneak attack.
Not needing to shoot at minimum range a Cal Logi 3-4 times in a row to drop him would be a bless. In many other games (say BF3) a successful Sneak attack is rewarded with a 1HKO. a DOUBLE damage bonus for scouts is by no means the same, but does help a lot.
Ninja killing at its best....
Ideas? opinions?

There would need to be some sort of reason why there's a bonus to killing from behind. Like how Eve has an explanation of why you can see the outside of your ship, there needs to be an explanation of why killing from behind is so important.
Maybe it could be something like some important part of the dropsuit is in the back, and it can be deactivated by close range shooting it? Just an idea :P

These futuristic Dropsuits DO look pretty sturdy from up front but weak from behind. Look at minmatars, it looks like they have a bunch of cables and stuffs running back there. Caldaris and Gallentes do have some strong front plating but lack back plating. The amarrs dont show this very much.

I think a 2x damage bonus might be a bit much for knives, maybe +50%? Would/should melee receive this bonus as well? |

I'm just going to go ahead and say gameplay/balance>lore.
But, that being said, an arbitrary damage bonus from getting shot in the back is not a good idea. All the scout/light suits need is an increase in speed so that it can take advantage of it's superior strafe and smaller hitbox.
If you catch an enemy unaware from behind (which is already a big advantage), and you still cannot kill him, then you have bigger problems than just the light suit deficiencies. |

No its not too much. Only a heavy MIGHT survive a nova knife backstab.AS IT SHOULD BE.
Melee? Hmm, no...i dont see scouts as Martial artists, more like CQ/LONG ranges specialists.

POINTLESS. Even if they had a movement speed of 10 by default, hit detection is so powerful you would still get hit and dropped in a matter of seconds.
Quote:If you catch an enemy unaware from behind (which is already a big advantage), and you still cannot kill him, then you have bigger problems than just the light suit deficiencies.
Example: GÖªMe playing random Pub match GÖªRunning ADV scout suit GÖª1 Dude in the city, SVER TB proto stomper. B-F. GÖªI sneak behind him, Shoot my CRG-3. , Then while hes turning around, AGAIN. (thats too,Minimum Range Shots with a SHOTGUN and 1 Cx Daamge mod), he turns around, Spray duvolle, 3 shots im dead. GÖªRepeat process 3 times. All end up the same. GÖªChange fit, Proto Mk.0 With Carthum (my best scout fit, Tanked and profile dampened) GÖª Sneak behind him, start shooting, again he turns around and this time, he shoots me with a Proto Shotgun.
You see, when you are running a 250 scout and FAIL to kill an enemy from behind (The case of our friend here with a 1100 Cal Logi suit) , its usually a Death sentence, not my lack of skill.

GÇóScrambler Pistols
Whereas I love the idea of my primary weapon getting a further 100% damage bonus, I cannot in good faith say this is a good idea. My scrambler pistols already kill people that arent aware of where i am in either 2 hits, or just under a full mag. If their hacking and this was implemented, my headshot modifier is 450% initial damage, then factor in that i carry a enhanced sidearm damage mod. Then my level 3 prof which is an additional 9%. So 84-88 damage...forget what the klo is. Plus 5% plus 9% then multiplied by 4.5 and with this implemented double it. Holy hell i just twoshot the heaviest suit in the game with my klo pistol which has a decent rate of fire. Right now it only takes four to put a proto heavy out when hacking. If its my breach, then 2.. Night night heavy.
As a scout id love this! I really would. But for my particular weapon, I don't think it would be a good idea. Nobody would survive my shots. |

Why not, you need ALREADY to SNEAK up behind someone AND aim for the head AND pray he is ALONE AND pray you havnt been scanned.
Im sorry but ; strategy and Aim should be rewarded. Its why AR spray and prayers have an advantage over players that sneak/use strategy/aim to the head..... because its not rewarded...

When it comes to CQC, you should of had the upper hand, especially in a light frame suit. I've never played with or against you so I cannot really say if it's your skill that is causing you issues.
How well do you strafe? If you are consistently getting one shot by SG's in a scout suit, that leads me to believe that you need to improve your strafing. It almost always takes shotgunners 3-4 shot to take me down when i'm strafing in a slow ass Amarr medium suit, IF they take me down. Go ask Roner General or Djinn Marauder how to shotgun in a scout. |
