I got this feeling that sniper rifles are useless now. I have almost maxed sniper skills, and i carry dmg mods. Still i need 4-5 shots to kill anything, it seems that other weapons are kinda better sniper rifles like assault rifles for example. I think i just wasted 2,5m SP into useless stuff. |

It's not an AR therefore you're not allowed to kill things with it, assist only.

they are about equal to slayers for suppression fire.
everything else snipers are worse by a lot and in pc are not quite useless but a slayer is always a better pick. |

There is nothing wrong with sniper rifles, you can easily kill everything with a normal tactical sniper rifle and one clip.
you just need to headshot tougher dropsuits and be able to aim.
CCP, I want my rainbow lasers now.

On a few of the maps, a solitary sniper can defend a node from well over 100m away.
To the OP: try running a sniper rifle/remote explosive suit if you can. If multiple reds show up at the same time or you're dealing with a tanked heavy, detonating an RE can take all of them out in one fell swoop.

this can generally only be done from a very small set of positions or angle, all of which are known to any experienced sniper by now, which will always result in you being dead.

And the sniper rifles with good zoom hardly do any damage. You need 3 headshots to kill buffed heavies.

Thats cause their heavies.
You guys 1-2 shot standard med frames.
I think that the kick could be lightened so you can make follow up shots easier.

I use Amarr Logi A/1 suit.
Charge sniper rifle (this makes my wallet empty pretty fast)
Submachine Gun, sometimes Nova Knives ...still trying to figure out what to carry in this slot.
3x Basic Light Damage modifiers.
Locus Grenade
Nanohive
Repair Tool
Ammo thingy
Basic Armor Repairer
Cpu upgrade
Sensor Dampener
All non Milita Stuff.
Any ideas or tips ? Is there anything im doing wrong ?
I do aim very well, sniper rifles simply dont kill enemies ...sometimes only.
The problem is: 3x Basic light damage modifiers are pure junk get some complex instead.

Thales or nothing. Snipers are just for harass in dust. A headshot should kill. They need to improve sniper bullet mechanics to make it harder to hit. But make the hits count. Sniper damage has suffered from the ehp increases.
Use a Thales or a forge gun.

Your gear sucks thats the problem, if you arent using a proto rifle and proto damage mods then you are doing it wrong
Other than that move your ass around so people dont zero you and kill you at close range and aim for the head, its not really a complicated style of play

Or increase the headshot multiplier, like how it was before the nerf. That makes headshots do more damage, and rewards skill in the game. Plus, it also discourages redline sniping, as it's much harder to get a headshot from such a distance. |

Ok here is my version of the suit you are using:
A/1 series logi
Charge sniper
M52A SMG
Nanohives
Uplinks
1-2 enhanced DMG mods
1-2 enhanced shield extenders (depends on how many Dmg mods)
2 enhanced armour plates
1basic armour plate
Approximately 60-70k isk
NOTE:I have amarr logi lvl5 so I already have 5hp/sec armour rep

They're not so bad. Triple complex damage mods + a charge or kalaakiota tactical is deadly. Your best bet against heavies is double/triple taps to the head with the tactical. |

get complex damage mods because only the charge sniper deals good damage but that scope is horrible
don't use any militia or STRD stuff..don't...proto is expensive
i find that ADV still does pretty good and still pretty cheap..i keep like 50 NT-511 snipers in stock
Max out your CPU/PG skills...and complex shields or plates are your friends..definitely nanohives aswell

So i played for the whole night trying diffrent weapons and setup.
Conclusion :
Pure Militia Heavy Suit with Miitia Forge Gun and Militia Stuff in it is a WAY much better sniper than my 75k ultra skilled sniper build.
My thought after few hours with it :
The Dude on the other side of the map hiding in the mountains, BAM ONE SHOT HE IS DEAD.
The Dude close to you, BAM ONE SHOT HE IS DEAD.
The Dude with this evil heavy suit, BAM ONE SHOT HE IS DEAD.
OH the DUDES in a car, BAM BAM THEY ARE DEAD.
OH i died, well ...lets just buy another suit for 7k that works better than my old 75k setup.
I will try Scrambler Rifle today. I bet first tier will triple the usefullness of the best sniper rifle out there like Forge Gun did.

try an ishukone with 3 complex mods. its fun watching proto cal logis lose shields in one shot and scream COVVER! |

Snipers are useless. In this game, in every FPS...
It has its own fun to it, but being effective towards your teams success cannot be determined by a sniper in this game...
My advice, find a Thales, and stack the damage mods.
And use KB&M so you can headshot better. |
