Hello,
I have now decided to make a mouse setting guide for dust 514. It seems like many players are having problems with setting up their mice optimally.
I am going to collect data and write a guide on how to set up the mouse to work well, but I need data from KB/M users on their settings and how you experience the mouse performance (sluggish, shaky, etc).
Please answer the linked poll below if you want to contribute: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1FCxIWqaPzoxO2mOlBWzNgAMjyVrroge8BqL6FiiZ3AY/viewform
I will collect some data and present some graphs when I have gotten enough feedback.

In answer to the question on the mouse sensitivity - it's being worked on currently. With the help of the forums we have identified the key issues and we hope to deploy a patch that resolves these concerns very soon.
As for keyboard remapping, we are working through a list of prioritised tasks and this feature is among those. At this moment in time we are utilising all available resources to deliver a smoother Uprising experience.

You might want to add a field for "Is mouse smoothing turned on?"
Yes, true.
However, if you have it on. TURN IT OFF IMMIDIATELY

Not all questions are mandatory, this is because not all mice have the settings. I want to make a broad guide for all mouse users (both simple and more advanced ones)-

One question though, what is the PS3 home screen definition thingy ?
Ah, it is the mouse sensitivity setting of the PS3 in the PS3 settings. It is related to using the mouse in web browsing for example. Took a while to find it for me :)

Took a while to find it for me :) Thanks for this, I had no idea there was a PS3 setting for the mouse. I put my details in - however my PS3 settings are measured in slow, normal and fast, not low, medium and high.
Ok, thanks. Didnt remember exactly what they called it, and didnt have access to a PS3 when I wrote this poll. :)

I have finished one experiment so far:
PS3 home menu mouse sensivitiy - Fast Polling Rate - 125 Hz Ingame Sensitivity - 0
Then tune mouse DPI until you have the sensitivity you want. This was working like a charm for me.
Going to use this as a "base" to compare other combinations of settings. Got a lot of work to do ;)

Update (2013-11-11):
Laurent: Any reply from CCP devs yet? Would be great to remove some variables from my tests. My expected answer is that polling rate should be set as low as possible.
I have started analysing the data, and it seems rather random right now. Will try to find some correlations and see if that is what I experience as well when trying that combination out.

Update 2 (2013-11-11)
Could some people try these settings out and give me some feedback if there are improvements:
1. Set your mouse polling rate as low as possible (100 or 125 Hz).
2. Goto PS3 XMB menu -> AccesSory Settings -> Pointer Speed Set the pointer speed to "Slow"
3. Set your mouse sensitivity to 60 (This is the default value).
4. Set your mouse smoothing to OFF.
5. Tune your DPI setting in the mouse do that you get the correct sensitivity.
6. Report if the mouse feels better in this thread.

Noone else has done this kind of research. I have even looked into UT3 optimal mouse settings for PS3. Most players in the poll seem to have XMB sensitivity high, which might not be the best.
I have also submit a support ticket to CCP asking for help on how to set up this optimally.
Please answer the poll if you have not done so already.
Good night!

Update: I have tried playing with keyboard and mouse in 576p resolution. This gave a significant improvement in over all gameplay, including keyboard and mouse input lag (stuff actually happens when you press the button, not 1 second later).
If you want to see a great example of this, try cooking a grenade in 720p resolution, then switch to 576p (480p for US players) and try cooking a grenade again. You will certainly notice the difference.
I remember that I have read somewhere that the unreal engine 3 the mouse performance is related to framerate. Do not know the exact technical reason for it. I believe it is related to the fact that you cannot syncronize the mouse with the v-sync. I also believe it is due to the fact that the FPS is around 30 frames/s, and the mouse is 100 updates/s. This will cause 'aliasing' (meaning high frequency content such as fast movements are "folded" into the low frequency part of the signal, causing strange behaviours) in the input->display relation by the known Nyquist sampling theorem.

I have submitted a very detailed question ticket to CCP customer support regarding all of the settings in the poll. I am currently awaiting response from them (as they sent the question to the dev team). This is why the thread has been a little bit inactive. Will finish the guide when CCP has answered me .
