(What I'm saying here is essentially PS Home: Dust Bunnies)
Allow mercs to leave their quarters and go into the station in a part that is essentially a mall/social gathering place/thing.
Here they can
- Chat with friends (or do negotiations (with another corp/alliance)(or someone offering to sell something))
- Watch recorded major battles in a viewing area (as well as live ones, should they be happening right then) (Both EVE-side and on the ground) (like Caldari Prime)
- Visit stores in person (Creodreon store: it only sells Creodreon equipment, Viziam store only sells Viziam stuff, etc etc)
- Meet new people
- In person corp recruitment
- Go to restaurants and spend Isk buying food and drinks (ALL THE ROLEPLAY!) (We'd need faces first though)
- Implement this EVE-side and we can get Dust bunnies to meet EVE pilots face-to-face
- Go into other areas and play minigames (like Slay)
- Do protests? (
)
(I would expect other stuff to be prioritized and done first, but later on it'd be a nice touch, would add to the immersion) |

I completely agree! For being an MMO there is little connection between mercs with the exception of what chat goes on in LOCAL and our corp channels.
Virtual connectivity in a 3D environment would increase the emotional investment in our DUST/EVE personas and increase the depth of our interaction. The thing I love about RPGs like Fallout and Elder Scrolls is the depth of character, which Dust could easily do.
I can imagine the games room from the PS:Home Dust launch being a hangout, our quarters being purchased as a Home space (like the LOOT apartment I spent real $ on) and having access to launch the game like Sodium.
