list of current railgun specific bugs
- Heat improperly displays and disapates causing both shots with no heat build up AND shots that instantly overheat despite either firing way past the overheat amount for the first and way under the overheat amount for the latter
- visual range for infantry is as low as 20m
- Visual range for instalations as low as 80m
- Visual range for vehicles as low as 150m
- shooting causes everything to de-render
- small turrets have a higher visual range
- railgun occasionally decides its going to shoot duds, the firing animation and heat build up occurs but no projectile is produced, if you stop firing it doesn't fix it, it persists for entire games at times.
- there's a chance even if you DO manage to shoot you will get the blue shield and not do damage
- apparently your shots can phase though objects now and fail to hit large turret installations
- i have personally encountered enemy infantry suddenly rendering less then 5 meters away from my tank in an open field without cover.
the weapon has been completely broken for 6 months now and im kinda curious why this isnt actually being acknowledged by anyone. |

threads pointing out mundane things that arnt even bugs get blue responces within 15 minuites, a problem thats exsisted for 6 months and has a 1000 reply petitiion not for a fix but just a blue post about the topic gets ignored for 3 months. |

ive brought this up a few times in threads and once in IRC
no responce on that either.
only posts we ever got about the rendering issue was the original "Working as intended this is standard in FPS games" speech at the begining of uprising (im not kidding)
only responce devs are alowed to give right now is "not my department go poke community reps", and since this isnt facebook you cant actually poke a community rep.

Any iphone 4 or higher should do just fine. Sadly i only have a 3gs so it is very difficult to capture good quality video.
a cature card is ironically cheaper then the suggested alturnative of "high end $500 phone" :P |

Hi, thank you for contacting us. 1. It could be that installation was firing at an enemiesGÇÖ installation or objective but was blocked by some obstacles. Could you take a picture of the location so we can verify if it is a known issue. 2. Do you mean you used railgun to shoot at infantry and do no damage? 3. Do you mean you shot an installation with large turret and the projectile passed through the installation? Thank you.
about the railguns doing no damage, tank mounted railgun ocasionally just wont do damage no matter what you shoot at, instalations, infantry AND enamy vehicles, no interviening LOS blocking terrain involved as well you have to get within 50m to see it in the firstplace :P in the case where shots seemed to phase through objects it was on a new map with two turrets one in front of the other LOS wise, shooting at the one in front ended up destroying the one behind without doing damage to the first, shots were aimed at the main body of the turret, at first i diddnt think i was doing damage so i was just aiming at various parts, eventually the turret behind exploded leaving the turret in front still un damaged. no pictures available.
as far as shooting duds, again large tank mounted railgun, firing animation with no projectile being produced, no damage is ever done and it doesnt matter what you shoot at, how close it is, even in places with clear LOS (again you have to get within 50m to be able to shoot anything anyways so all the terrain is clearly loaded)
these issues are all nearly a year old.

The disappearing targets and invisible infantry men shooting swarms at you while trying to figure out where "where did that come from and who's shooting at me?" while driving a rail tank.
rendering is working as intended, its a feature not a bug. CCP is not alowed to comment on the topic |
