Earn Money. Take Money.
I guess someone else changed the description to that, because it wasn't set to that by the member who originally did the deed 5 minutes before downtime yesterday. Is the symbol still the new red star badge?

That again is 20 players playing with BPOs for an hour.
A full trans-stellar empire (1300 people) running 10 games of ambush in an hour would net 1.95 Billion isk. Talk about making things interesting. 7,950,000,000 ISK/hr would be the number if you got 5300 people playing at that rate.
The only problem with this is that barely half that many players are playing at one time across every corporation's members, including NPC. I'm sure CCP would be very, very happy if you could double the players playing in your corporation alone.
Also, unless the player is running free fittings, they need to pull ISK out for their equipment anyway. Just the legitimate users would suck up a lot of the cash for suits, or get stuck without decent gear because someone grabbed all the winnings.

Player Counts: Yes you are absolutely correct on this point. Yet, XERCC does seek to help immerse new players into the 'differentness' that Dust offers over other FPS genre titles. By the nature of all members having director controls, new player have an ability to try out new systems, game operations, and even access to skill books far more quickly than would normally be possible. We hope that this expedience and immersion within collective choices would assist player retention.
Sucking up cash: Well the beauty of this ponzi communism beast is that it has encouraged behavioral changes in players to donate to each other out of some type of trollish kindness. Running starter and MLT variants is quite feasible and it encourages new tactical choices to operate in lieu of pressing challenges from suit/equipment disparity. Skilled players can skill make a punishing impact upon a match with remote explosives and scrambler pistols for example. Many hIgh SP players can make the most for their money with high proficiency skills in various types of weaponry.
In the chance that you do grab the isk pot during an opportune moment you can run any type of suit you like for a good while.
Yes, it is good fun. It's always funny to see the pot climb to a million ISK only to have it taken half a minute later.

Ah, I only usually play late at night on my alternate for an hour or so, so the pot is usually tiny by then.
