CCP when do you plan on removing the Plasma Cannon?

It's too slow to be an AV weapon, by the time the round has landed the target has moved, and even when it hits the damage simply isn't enough to warrant the slow travel time. It's next to impossible to hit a player even with the AoE which does little damage so if the AoE damage is little even to a player, why would it bother any vehicle? The Plasma Cannon needs reworking, perhaps so much it gains a new use than was originally intended? Maybe rather than an AV weapon, use it as an anti-personel mortar? The slow travel time would be fine if the AoE radius and Damage was buffed. I won't lie, I enjoy the plasma cannon still, it is a fun weapon and the idea of it is cool and all. But just because people enjoy a weapon doesn't mean it's viable. Any thoughts from anyone else? do you think it's fine? needs a buff in a differn't area?

If Preparation is half of the battle and knowing is the other half, Then there is no need to fight.

Meanwhile, I'm using an advanced suit and mostly standard modules with a standard Laser Rifle going the same on the same map with no effort. The Laser Rifle isn't even that great half the time. Seriously. He's good at the PLC, most players are not. Maybe they could be if they invested a huge amount of time into it. The Plasma Cannon is a big Flaylock Pistol at close range, which isn't too bad. At longer ranges, the projectile is still kind of slow, even after the buff, and you need to have very good judgement to get anything other than splash kills on weakened enemies, especially when they are moving. It's not impossible to use, but it takes a lot more effort and skill to use than pretty much any other weapon in the game to get comparable performance. It's hard to balance because it's a high burst damage weapon. If you make it too easy to use, everyone screams OP because of the instadeath. If you make it too hard to use, no one uses it and everyone screams UP. Many suits I've worn, many burdens I've borne, for the oaths I've sworn. Panda.

Bit bigger splash, better hit detection (still ghosts through targets quite a bit if the hit isn't dead on) and improved reticle to help judge where the projectile will land (so one need not expend precious ammo to test range as regularly, nor potentially give one's self away - the MD reticle is pretty decent in this regard) would all go a long way towards improving the PLC for those who dedicate the time and effort to it without going too far.

You're doing it wrong... lol I routinely post games like 24-2, 17-1, 14-0, 11-0 with the plasma cannon. Are these slayer's scores? Nope. But I'm a logi and really don't care. I can run my Duvolle if I just really have to **** in someone's cereal. I've soloed maaaaany tanks and blown up LAVS before they could even react with a flux/plasma combo. Hell, I one time even put aerosol back in a can. Ok, that last one is made up but the rest is true! The Dust 514 AFK song Plasma Cannon FTW
