Hopefully the new guy in charge, CCP Rouge will make the game everything we want it to be. Still I think that the game needs to get out of beta. I liked the beta the promise of more was there, now with the promise of SOON, well...IDK what to think. When the game was introduced they gave us a 5-10 year roadmap. We have come to the near end of year 1 (2 years in) and with 4-9 more to go maybe all it needs is an accelerated timetable, more investment from outside sources and more work. I could handle sporting a Coca-cola logo on my dropsuit if thats what it took to get the game to where we have been expecting it to get to for such a long time. How about you?

What I found spot on about the article was the advertised product is far from the actual product. I think his main actual point that was made is correct. CCP has not yet delivered what they had indicated they plan to deliver. The caveat that CCP left in there is that they want 5-10 years to do it in, which from a gamer's point of view is 3 kids and a wife possible the 1st and second degree (college or univ) later they may want to play the game CCP has laid out for future development. They don't want to wait they want it now, have bought into the advertised game for what it is supposed to become yet it isn't the game we see now. This is the concern raised in the article, and shouldn't be swept under the rug just because some(if not all) of the facts were wrong.

Also if EVE players could sweeten the payout for working for them like Caldari give me more skill points vs Minmatar giving out more isk per win. I need a reason to care or it is just another shooter. I think you have a very good point, it doesn't matter if we win or lose at the moment, only how much isk we can make. I would certainly like to see a great deal of improvement in the mechanics that affect Eve and vice versa. There should be a reason the games are both on the same server and IMO at this point in time that very basic premise (One Universe) should have gotten a lot more focus in the early stages before launch and even now as the racial variants of weapons, suits and vehicles are added. There are so many things that need to be added that I am surprised someone in the CCP boardroom hasn't made a point of telling devs to get it done. Manufacturing, market, PVE, trade and contracts are all important things that I am sure no Eve player would ever want to be without, how we have gone this long without them is a serious question that should be addressed and I believe was when the company hired CCP Rouge.

Put this game in the PC CCP, you know that is where it should be. Stop wasting your time and money in Consoles, and put this game where it belongs; side to side with Eve as an Expansion. I don't believe this is the market group they are looking for. Cross platforming the game is the answer. I heard an idea last week that made a lot of sense, allow Eve players to put on a dropsuit and deploy from their merc quarters to the planets and shoot people like we do. It would mean we had a whole other group of players shooting stuff and it would also mean that we could enlist Capsuleers to be more invested in this game. This is not to say that the game should be PC exclusive but would allow current customers already paying to produce the game, a way besides on the console to enjoy it.

hmmm I wonder whose fault that is *ccp* so someone doesnt do there research and its not there fault? its not like its hard to find out the info needed esp for an eve vet used to it. That's nonsense only 3-4% of a playerbase ever go on the forum, and only 20% ever go to the website or wikis/youtube videos for help. Yet tons of games as complex or more so than dust and eve online don't have people trying to figure out what the game is they are playing. Don't be stubborn you need to help the 80% of people who play you game IN GAME. You should not have to close out and check the internet to figure out how to control the basics. This very reason is why I have suggested good video based instruction built into the Battle Academy and even into the skill books themselves, to make the NPE better for everyone. I wonder if the author actually tried Dust briefly and just got frustrated from not being able to do something, turned around and wrote the article after finding a shooter he liked better. Honestly if he had played but one match in any of the Public contract modes he would have easily seen that there were only 16 v 16 battles available.
