Ok, so right now Caldari tanks have two turrets: Rails and Missiles. But I'm curious to what Gallente's would have other than their blaster? A drone hive? ^^ |

Gallente usually has either hybrid bonuses or hybrid bonuses (Gallente actually created railguns), and then they get drone bonuses, so yea, I guess so.

I see now, Caldari Railgun varient has relatively less damage than the gallente variant, but the gallente one would be shorter range? |

blaster are close range rails are long range...
caldari also have blasters and rails but favor missels

That would be cool. EVE ships already do that, so why can't DUST? I've almost never put different guns on a ship, but I remember placing small autocannons (Minmatar turrets) on a Gallente frigate, and the turrets looked Gallentean as opposed to Minmatarrian.
Let me also add something to help the OP; here are the two different weapons systems for each race:
Amarr: pulse and beam lasers
Caldari: railguns and missiles
Gallente: blasters and drones
Minmatar: autocannons and artillery

No, they don't?
Autocannons look the same on Minmitar hulls as they do on Amarr.

Not quite. The large railgun we have now is definitely Caldari in design.
In space, the Gallente use hybrid weapons (blasters and railguns, but mostly blasters) and drones. The Caldari use missiles and railguns.
So while both races use hybrid weapons, the Gal are much more proficient with blasters, and the Cal with Railguns.
It is unlikely that there will be an official Gallente Large Railgun Turret, because while the Gal use railguns, they don't use them nearly as often as they use blasters.

Fun fact: In beta, there were TWO variants of large railguns. One looked Gallente in nature, the other looked like the current one. There were two variants of small railgun too. I don't know if they looked different though. |

This launcher fires a small suicidal drone to attack enemies in the vicinity of where it impacts due to the size of the payload the power and attack of the drone is rather limited after landing making the seek range upon impact about 1-3 meters. If there are no targets upon impact in range the drone will not bother to attack and self destruct safely. Targets caught in the seek range are latched onto and lacerated with the plasma charge that powers the drone.
The drones have to be assembled for firing making it a slower firing weapon however there is laser guidance and automatic arc and power projection allowing the drone to sail to the designated target area instead of reliance on the pilots guess work with projectory math. Thus at any given time only one drone can be launched at a time. Drones are capable of seeking targets around corners if they are in range. However they have no discerning protocols and may uselessly attack HAVs or heavier infanty units.
The drone launcher also suffers from having the smallest reserve magazine of all weapons and requires a reload between shots resulting in a nearly a shot per 5 seconds.

The Quad Discus Drone launcher sling shots drones onto the field at amazing speeds and accuracy. Like the smaller variant the drones are automatically guided by laser to their destination requiring no arc adjustments from the operator . Leaving the operator to compensate for leading more distant targets. Unlike the small turret the larger drones have a wider seek range and power this comes at a cost that further these drones have to seek the weaker the attack becomes only by latching on the drones directly onto a hostile target can they do their full destructive potential making them deadlier proponents at close range combat.
While the discus drone may not seek infantry targets infantry are still subject to collateral explosive damage and direct damage of being hit by the drone itself on its way to the destination.
The launcher can sling up to four drones at a time onto the field and they remain there until the pilot reloads causing the four on the field to detonate and harm anything around them. Because of this feature there is no automatic reloading, as similar to the small drone launcher however the reserve ammo and magazine is among the smallest of any vehicle weapon.

Tank weapon selection is based on what you plan on fighting. Wanna kill armor tanks? Use missiles. Want to kill shields and infantry? Use blasters. Want to snipe vehicles? Use railguns |
