We endured the terrible NPE because it was beta. Anyone coming in post 5/14 is going to expect a finished product with tutorials to teach them how to play and some kind of matchmaking to keep them from being pubstomped. Yes indeed, but there's a difference between teaching someone and holding their hands. Darksouls for example does a fantastic job of tutorials without telling the player what to do every step of the way, basic controls the menus ect, the rest is learned through your own trials(and many MANY errors). Have you made a new toon recently to check out the improvements to NPE and the WP requirements to graduate from the academy? I think you should, you'd be surprised how much CCP is killing this game with horrible player retention.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

There's something off in this game. It's because CCP decided that new player experience wasn't going to be their top priority on the final stretch before release. Instead, they came up with a short term solution- the academy. Intentions were good, (to save face) but what we need is for them to build on the academy by turning it into a tutorial experience and their introduction to New Eden and Dust 514. By the time they graduate they should know the basics when it comes to fittings, the menus, vehicles, equipment, racial suits, squad orders, and just about anything else the rest of us had to look up and ask around for.
If you have a computer, DL a free trial of EVE Online and go through the active tutorial for a few hours. That's the kind of NPE that Dust desperately needs so that players don't come in here thinking it's just a F2P CoD with a layer of future aesthetics.
