Anyway, I'm totally on board with the militia mode idea: perhaps lower/no isk rewards, but higher SP payout. A place for protostompers to prove they're not just relying on a crutch, and for noobs to avoid getting rolled over by 1000 hp Duvolles. I'm not sure how a proto mode would work though. It kinda defeats the purpose of proto. Unless the isk payouts were massive, and only offered to the winning team. That would be fun to see, though I would avoid it like the plague. I'd be in favor of an option to restrict matches to different tiers of gear so that newberries fresh out of the academy can avoid the discouraging stomps, protobears can have a challenge and possibly make more money, and average guys like me who run STD/ADV can avoid the discouraging stomps, avoid giving discouraging stomps, and play with other similarly matched players. I'm literally playing Dust less because at least every other match is a protostomp and it just isn't fun anymore. I don't want to stomp, I don't want to get stomped, I want to (generally) play with other people running the same level of gear as me and have it come down to SP and skill at using said gear. Of course there would be nothing stopping you or me from going into a MLT/STD match, we'd just have to use MLT/STD gear. And a MLT newberry could of course enter a PRO match... at his own risk. Perhaps allocate planets in high sec space for MLT/STD matches, low sec for ADV, and NPC null for PRO.

And you'd be hard pressed trying to fit your suit with all MLT gear (unless all core skills are at lvl 5) I may seem biased to some... But in the end all I want is perfect balance between everything.

But in the end all I want is perfect balance between everything.

Every fitting would add each slot's equipment meta level and the dropsuit's own meta level and that would be the fittings total level. So, it would be that Lv1 would permit fittings from 0 up to 10 meta level, Lv2 from 0 up to 20, Lv3 up to 40 and Lv4 would have no restrictions. I don't have numbers for vehicles though but it would be the same principle. When you'd join a battle, its level would be perfectly visible and your unallowed suits would appear red, so you couldn't pick those. em ta kool t'nod

First off I said I disagreed or am against the idea of a proto mode, that is neither right or wrong but my opinion on it Secondly in regards to the idea of a militia only mode, I was saying that if we had to have a militia mode it should be combined with no vehicles and no squads, if you looked at the first page there are posts about no vehicles, and I've seen posts about no squads. So there is nothing factually incorrect about merging the three modes into one. Thirdly, what the hell does the made up number of 80% have anything to due with my post? Below 28 dB

I'd probably suggest a greater disparity in rewards than 200k to 400k, and I'd also suggest WP rewards be scaled similarly. I suggested something pretty similar before, but with 6 levels of reward/restriction based on 6 sec levels in hisec (1.0 down to 0.5), so you can fight in 1.0 hisec for pitiful rewards but be confident you aren't going to get protostomped. RF Gyro: 12.5% damage bonus; 10.5% rate of fire bonus
