I can't understand why anyone at this point is so vehemently against respecs. This game is floundering like a fish out of water and instead of making the little playerbase that's left happy, people want to **** them off by not giving some sort of SP refund/respec on skills for stuff that's not there anymore?
I just don't get it. |

I just don't get it. I think you've misread most peoples comments. People that are against complete and regular respecs are usually for partial refunds when CCP changes things like with the upcoming vehicle overhaul. CCP said during the last full respec that it would never happen again unless there were drastic changes but there could be partial respecs if features had to be changed. They are radically changing vehicles so a partial respec seems likely.
I do understand that, but I still don't get it.Is it just because "CCP said...",or because people just don't want it period? I think it's the later,no matter what CCP has said ( and let's face it,can we really put much stock into most of what they say anymore?).
It has been mentioned plenty of times, but why CCP hasn't implemented full respecs for AUR is beyond me.They have tried to find many ways to monetize this game with different "packs",this one just seems like a no brainer, especially considering that there has already been a precedent set by other MMOs on PC.
Then again, had they put in the training mode like they talked about who know how long ago,a full respec wouldn't ever be needed.
I have been suggesting to plenty of people to do two things. 1)NEVER go below 1-2 million unallocated SP,just in case something that you have spec'ed into gets the nerf hammer. and 2) create characters on multiple PSN accounts and let them sit and collect passive SP so that when something new comes out,you can try it before you buy it on your main character.
If more people did these two things along with the training or testing mode that CCP promised, then the cry for respecs wouldn't exist.
Then again,I still just don't really see a real problem with respecs considering that this game is losing players and will never have the playerbase to truly make this game epic. |

Yeah maybe as far as the vehicles go,but act like u dont know what im sayin as far as the pphhuking fotm players,,if ccp can manage to give sp back for vehicles only then hell yeah im all for it,,but am sick to death of the constant talk of **** being unfair. U didnt see a respec when the heavy went to **** did u?? Btw your cockholster runs to easily,,like many others in the game who cry-baby their way into getting what they want out of ccp,one of the many downfalls of the game,,,if u dont like what I just said then oh freakin well cuz your not the only one who lost real $$ bcuz of respecs. What u bought then u deal with now,,nuff said Who cares about FoTM Only players with no skills are worried about other players having solid builds. Adapt or die. it's not about the players, it's about the nature of the game and how a respec would go against it. of course adapt or die, there's a counter. I couldn't care less what people spec into but the option of paid respec or frequent respecs just goes against the game completely.
+1 for saying "couldn't care less" instead of "could care less".
-1 for thinking that it really makes a difference anymore about going against the nature of the game.
The nature of the game is massive battles for planetary, and galactic control, none of which are realized, and likely to ever be.How the hell does anyone reconcile the fact that it only takes 16 mercs to take total control over an entire planet?!
This game is so far gone from it's origin vision of meta game elements that CCP just needs to do what ever they can to make it as enjoyable for as many people to play as possible. The alternative is that this time next year, there's only going to be 2k~2,500 people on at any given time,if not less. That's just not enough people to keep this game viable.

Then don't do it! No one is forcing you,or anyone else that doesn't want a respec to commit to a respec!
Like I said before,AUR based respecs is the way to go as it will help CCP financially and also developmentally.
