This should definitely be part of the NPE. Each player should have a one-time option to change their race once they get more involved in the lore aspect of New Eden and begin to identify more with a particular race.

I agree theres a lot to learn as a new player i think there should be a one time chance, to change your race and full respec. Just my two cents as a nooob |

The empire introduction videos needs to be redone and reintroduced and brought back to the character creation in full instead of cleverly hidden away in a show more button.

Oh and please tell CCP not to make the Amarr seem overly so like the bad guys, and the Minmatar and Gallente to be the overwhelming good guys.
If you are going to describe the Gallente please include the hypocrisy of their government, the imperial dreams they aspire to and their lack of will to let the Caldari and Intaki be independent.
If you mention the Minmatar bring up their inability to let the pass die, their anger and rage and general inability to join a culture without conflict, as well as not making them sound like the perfect victims.

i remember way back when you chose your first race they were already skilled into a certain role so if you wanted to be a sniper you had to be gallente if you wanted to be assault you had to be caldari since open beta this has been since removed to where you could skill into anything cause your sp isnt spent for you now i believe there should be a way for all the early closed alpha players (closed beta lasted for a year i like to call the early players alpha testers) to be able to change there race everyone else who joined in open beta didnt have to deal with this

im a close beta player. So, back then they didnt have bonuses which is why i picked galente. I really want to change to caldari to get the bonus. Also, it would be better to let some one choose a race after academy so they pick the race they like and based on the suit they use.
I can only please one person per day. Today is not ur day, tomorrow doesn't look too bright either.

I feel that a race change needs to come in, since I chose gal when I had no Idea what the races really were or did.
but I also think it needs to come in kinda cloaked like make it come in with a character customization tool.
remember, when you first see lightning play in a open field!

It would be a nice add-on for CCP, pay $10 & boom it's your's. Defiance has the option in they're game if you buy the DLC you get to have the option to change your race. Though i'm happy as Amarr I wouldn't mind possibly changing my 3rd character. |

EDIT- the descriptions of the Amarr from the SLAY lounge are great please use those.
I think they should just make the intial description very vague about each race just teliing only the most basic stuff. That way people have to look into each race & understand each one more deeply. That way people stop being all about Gallente & Minmitar & thinking Amarr & Caldari bad before they have to look into each-race. |

I'm sticking with amarr but I don't see why they won't allow this.
And as true adamance said, the videos need to be redone. The amarr seem like the most evil thing in the galaxy while the gallente seem like the superheroes of this game.
This is my second toon because the first was a gallente and then I realized how big of panzies they are so I biomass did him and made this toon.

Erm, ok, maybe I didn't get the memo, but aren't the bonuses applied by dropsuits not character race?
So switching the race to Caldari won't give you anything if you're left with Gallente dropsuits :P |

Bumping this because I want this so badly. I want my year old main to be Minmatar. It's my mission to pester as many ppl as possible till it gets conclusively shot down or granted!
Uprising 1.8 would be the perfect chance. Give people a week or so to send in a ticket to change. Imagine being the race you want and then having all the racial suits to jump into.

I donGÇÖt like allowing people to change their race, but I would go along with it based on the fact that new players have not been given a very clear overview of the races. I would want to fix that first though. Once New Players have a clear and balanced view of all four races before they make their choice at the character creation screen, then I would be ok with a one time only option to change race.
I fully agree with True Adamance. Show both sideGÇÖs perspective of the races. There is good and bad on both sides.

That idea actually provides a way to explain the race change in lore. It also requires you to be very dedicated to the faction and prove your loyalty. I like it.

I like Ander ThedasGÇÖs idea of changing your Citizenship rather than changing your race, and having it tied into Faction Warfare standings. If we ever get to see what is under these helmets, then maybe the Factions could through in some plastic surgery to help their new citizens fit in better.
For me changing oneGÇÖs race seems to be an out-of-game change, and I donGÇÖt much like those. But changing citizenship is something that happens often in real life and would make complete sense in the context of the game, particularly when linked to Faction Standing.
