A bit of background information, I am a Gallente Scout, and have SMG Operation V, Proficiency IV, Sharpshooter V, Reload Speed III, and Ammo Capacity III. I currently use two SMG on every one of my fittings. I prefer the 'Normal' Variant over Assault, as I seem to do better and they are easier to fit. However, I can not get a single kill with the Breach. It may have to do with not being able to survive long enough in a Scout suit, as the damage per second is low (and thus Time-to-Kill is long). I'm not even sure it is worth trying to get good with, but others seem to have success with it.
Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Stupid question I know, but what kind of damage modifier are you using to increase damage if any? |

I tested it out for the first time today and found it fairly effective, but it seems to be pretty situational. The primary benefit of them is the tight hip-fire spread; despite its lower overall DPS, I found its hipfire DPS to be far superior to standard and assault SMGs in the 10-20M range. Basically, it's excellent if your opponents aren't good enough to shred an actively strafing target, because you can exploit its hip fire to do reasonably good DPS while having excellent mobility to dodge shots with. I'm not surprised that you found it very hard to use on a scout- I was using my Dren C-1 and most fights with it bit into my armor. |

yeah flanking and maybe an extra 5% or 10% should do the trick.i personally creep on a guy while he shoots my friend and blast him with my breach.always carry a good backup, such as sixkin in case it gets messy

Breaches allow extra damage per clip i believe, that or they have a longer time to discharge the clip. Be patient in your Smg usage, don't just spray and chase. Spray only while your gun is on target, when they seem to trail off, do a sprint to their side, jump, and reappy damage midair, i've found this a great dueling tactic. However i'm also a protobear minmatar assault... So whatever suits your playstyle best, but generally with breaches try and outlast them, firing at them while they reload.

It is a pocket carbine.
It's slow fire rate allows you to outlast most weapons in terms of ammo. This is good as it allows for suppressing fire. This aspect also helps out tremendously in CQC as you can fire for longer, coupled with it's tight hip fire, it makes it deadly(Aztec) against armor.
Head shots will be your goal. They are the only thing that will help you kill faster than with the other variants. Due to lag, frame rate and hit detection, it may be difficult to get consecutive head shots.
In short, go for head shots at range and keep the small cross hairs aimed at the head during CQB.

Update: I've used it a bit, and it seems to be an excellent weapon for dodging around and whittling down enemies' health. Paired with a non-Breach SMG, it is an amazing weapon.

Also, while Fox is still slumbering...
I suggest you join the Learning Coalition chat channel. It seems like you got a load of SP and skill already, but we can still answer any question you have. I actually have used the Breach SMG before, and was very successful with it. I would have answered, if I wasn't beat to it. :)
So yea. Join channel "Learning Coalition", and you can squad up with our other students, and, if you'd like, myself. But I get scary sometimes, so I would watch out.
UPDATE on my therapy classes by the way, you know, the ones that I'm not taking? Those ones. I at least kept pretty calm earlier today while being 2HK'd by a GEK. Honestly, I don't think it's me getting better about my screaming, I think it's me getting tired of how bad Scouts are ATM. :P

It is a long, continuous stream of fire and each bullet deals 32 HP. The slow rof keeps you on target and the enemy has to take evasive action. good post deadly aztec. |
