Title says it all. It seemed to have fallen off the map a few months ago. Not that I was even going to get it, since I don't have a vita, but just wondering.

They even had a Q&A session here that was supposed to be answered on June 27th but never was:
 https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=87207

 So what happened?

I hope CCP took the guy/team coding it and moved his ass to a mission critical role, like fixing render issues, improving performance, getting content added like missing racial suits/vehicles, fixing PC lag, working on FW 2.0, PC 2.0, P2P Market, or PvE.

Don't ask about it! Everytime you say Vita and neocon at the same time they move it back 6 months.

Personally I kind of hope the same thing, but was just surprised that nothing was never officially stated.

Designing/publishing a good public API is 1000x better than squandering resources on a Vita app that less than 1000 people will download.

The guy that was in charge of the app's development (CCP Merovingian) stated a few months that the project was transferred to some other department and that he too was awaiting intel. From my understanding, the app was pretty much finished at the time, so I have no idea what they're doing with it now.

If EVE is any indication, if they release the public API to DUST, and API keys, then there WILL be apps for it.

For everything. (Though some platforms might be worse than others.)

Of the 83,000 people that ever bought a Vita only 128 of them ever played Dust.
Of that 128, only 13 stuck around long enough to know that there was a Vita app in development.
Of those 13, only 4 remain and apparently 3 of them either abandoned the Vita as fast as Sony did or don't need to use game menus (that have enough issues of their own within the actual game) when not in game to do absolutely nothing productive with their characters.

Agreed, I think it would be cool if you could get a live battle map on your device.

Just picture running with your squad and then using your iPad to drop an ob on squad of reds.

The VITA is great, SONY didn't abandon it. They just released the new colors and redesigned it to be thinner and lighter with a better battery. I use mine daily and it is the best screen for the least amount of money you can carry around.

I am not a good computer programmer but I did look into the dev kit you can get for one. It would take me a while to learn the VITA code and API system to write an app but then it would only do EVE and not be able to change fittings. If they would tell me that it is canceled I would at least have closure.

That's the goal, with android first than the iOS.

Jk as long as I get my iOS app before this game burns out (let's hope it never does) I'll be happy

CCP probably realised there was no direct money to be made from it.

Hopefully they might divert some people from the new suits & weapons to it once those are complete.

Indeed, these forums once had quite a few from the Outer Spur. The numbers seem to have dwindled in the past few months, but I still see some from time to time.

RIIIIGGGHTTT! They sold 2x that number in the US on 2012 Black Friday weekend alone. There are MILLIONS of Vita's out there & hand held gaming is far from dead, just look at the "apps" market for tablets & smart phones.

As to CCP incompetence & continuing to thumb their nose at the player base, that's more than obvious!
