I mentioned this concern the first time we started seeing people asking for pinning a charity style thread. It's generally something that sites organized for promoting causes are better for.
Most of us will generally want to come here to find out about, talk about or troll the game. |

Sometimes I think that charities are there to make people feel self satisfied. Looking at Haiti Earthquake 900 something NGOs and that was before the event assuming that if 'we build the houses back everything will get better', people want to believe that throwing money at something fixes the solution so they can feel better about themselves. Maybe if they took the time to not only follow that money, insure it is being spent wisely and knowing that it's not just being used as a crutch.. people wouldn't actually be throwing money into holes to encourage selfish reasons of feeling better about themselves.

In regards to your op though, maybe you coul be like 95% of everyone else and go "huh another charity post, Welp they get no money from me" and ignore it and move on.
Also Extra Life has been doing gaming marathons for at least 5 years that I know of so yeah they're legit.

Your point is a moot point, it is NULL AND VOID because any charity you give to makes somebody stinking rich.
Just look at the CEO's of charities, they get paid $100s of thousands of dollars every year. It's a business,
I reckon 1% of your money goes to people who are dying etc.
Charities are just businesses with no real idea so they've found a way to take your money without you even
wanting anything in return. Biggest scam going.
The ones who actually give more than 1% to those in need are EXCLUDED from this rant. So don't say "what about this charity" because they are automatically excluded.

Those that don't know, 75% of all donations, fund the charity. They pay for advertisements, payroll, office equipment, mansions. Yahts, sports cars, ect.

How about instead of donating to "people in need" that you never have or never will meet you toss me some of that cash so I can pay my medical bills?
It'd be a good cause! only $50 a month and I wouldn't have mood swings or be self medicating with alcohol to replace anti-anxiety meds. Any proceeds will go to fund "elective surgeries" that my insurance won't pay for but will increase my quality of like. |
