So I've been running Advanced gallante light frame suits (because let's be serious, scouting is a non existent role, completely overshadowed by Active Scanners; a novelty at best) for a couple of days and I'm starting to get the hang of it. I have over 10 million SP into upgrades (maxed out shield, armor, CPU, PG, Biotic skills). Here is my main setup so far:
High: Complex damage Mod. Complex shield Extender. Low: Enhanced Armor repairer. Complex Armor Plates. Light weapon: Gek plasma rifle Sidearm: NONE Grenade: NONE Equipment: Compact nanohive CPU: 227/227 PG: 45/55 ISK: 44,865 (wtf, that's almost twice as much as my fully equipped ADV Amarr set up)
WISHLIST
Light suits should have the highest maneuverability- All light suits should be able to reload while sprinting. All lights suits should have higher movement speed while aiming down sights; reduce speed penalty while ADS. Also, get rid of the completely UNNECESSARY stamina regeneration delay. Like, seriously, the game is clunky and slow enough as it is.
CPU/PG- Please bring it up to par with all the other suits.
Speed- Obviously this needs to be increased. However, before it gets buffed, this game will need to maintain a framerate greater than 3 fps as well as improvements to hit detection. Or else we will get invincible, blue shielding, light suits again.

I feel one of the issues with scouts right now is that there is nothing that you as a medium or heavy player "have" to use a scout for to do. Outside of maybe getting to objectives faster to spam drop uplinks, you devolve into just a slightly speedier assault with anemic ehp.
In regards to scout combat when looking at a game like Metal Gear Solid 4. Both Vamp an Raiden are scouts according to lore yet look at how dynamic their combat tends to be. Now in said game those two are damn near unkillable vamp more so than the other.
But apart from that some elements they showed such as hyper agility, leaping over high walls (buildings sometimes), etc. Should be a significant part of our current scout class (leaping over tall buildings in a single bound not included).
No I don't think we should ever see or smell an ehp buff but the tools of our survival should not be the same as our assault or heavy counterparts. Especially if the means of those classes are not already innate in ours. My hope is that emphasis on ewar an a very serious look at scout abilities on the field will truly bring this class into its own light.

Order of Most importance
1) An an actual ewar escape mechanic built into the suit like an active scanner
Scouts are useless unless they are on the edge of danger, thus we do need some defensive capabilities to disengage unwanted encounters
2) Debuffing abilities
Having a unique utility that no other suit can do would go a long way
3) Reduced fall damage
Seriously, I've jump and landed from distances higher which have killed my scout, I'd like to see CCP dump of a 15m rock and land on their feet, and then do the same jump while holding 50 lbs weights and tell me what hurts more.
4) Since we have a speed cap and are not allowed to go much faster than assaults, double our stamina
Which is lame, I don't understand the balancing on this when they created the suits
5) slow down the rest of the suits by a marginal .4 in speed.

Actually I feel the scouts are in a pretty good place right now. Their survivability's a little low, but I kill most with it than any other suit |

1) Agree 100%
2) Definitely or something of equivalent nature.
3) Made a thread on this my self, it doesn't make any sense that a class designed with low health that must escape to survive dies because they were trying to actually escape .
4) Stamina would help but without some means of reliable evasion I can only imagine what will happen to scout once rail rifle comes out.
5) As a medium suit user all I can say is "DON'T TOUCH ME THERE!!!", but in all seriousness I would fully except such a thing or even a little larger for said suits if that was the only thing that could be done to boost scouts speed.

I love the reload while sprinting exception for scouts. I also proposed it in the past. ppl tend to throw a hissy fit every time this is brought up.

You'd be surprised how absolutely gnarly some of the current scouts are.
Then again, they're not attempting to tank on the most fragile of suits.
I run a scout every now and then and I can tell you that it's extremely difficult to pick up my suits without a scanner. I can hump people's legs before they realize I'm there. Granted, I'm not running like an assault or heavy. I keep off the front lines and pick off anyone attempting to flank my team, or I'll go flank them.
Scouts do need some sort of speed increase. I semi-agree with sprint reloads, though that is more of an Assault strong thing.
I go commando in my Commando. Feels good, man.

An there in lies the problem with the suit really. Sure you can try an "scout" in pub matches an FW but in PC all that flies out the window.

Alright,
I was playing the whole day as a scout and literally there is nothing that made sense about it. It should be a stealth suit but got picked up by scanners of its own tier ( I knew it was std because of the 5 seconds the "you have been scanned stayed on screen" ). It's supposed to be fast but I can barely catch up to an assault when he is running. It should dodge but has no bonus to strafing speeds. It dies to AR fire in a blink of an eye.
YOU SCOUTS SERIOUSLY NEED A F**KING MEDAL. RESPECT!

A scout is not an uber fast combat specialist, its just a recon guy in a onesie that can run quicker than normal lol.

Just like any other suit, if you want it to function a certain way then fit the correct mods, so far all I see is whining for a scout to have stealth, high Hp, speed and extra equipment slots.

I specifically state that: "Stealth" is useless. Never mentioned high HP and never mentioned extra equipment slots (although if a scout class ever does become viable, two equipment slots is a must) |

I wish to be a full scout, but I'm edging in the assult scout role. Favoring armor and such. I would rather be stealthy and speedy and a killer of protos using unconventional tactics. Does the assult rifle fit in with a scout playstyle? no. I want new toys for the scout to play with.
My dream will be to be a ghost in the battlefield doing the unthinkable, killing, hacking without being seen. Instead of going head-on, I would like to go around and survive. The only ppl that would cause me trouble will be other scouts in the battlefield!

Don't get me wrong, I totally understand why - it's because neither speed nor stealth is worth using - it's just a shame to see us being forced into playing as speedy assaults instead of having our own role. The thing that confuses me is why don't people just run an assault with all the trimmings and a kinkat to be a bit speedier?

Do yourself a favor and get rid of the plate, take a ferro scale if you need the ehp. You are slower than an unplated caldair med with it. A stamina mod wll yelp in the early game ( getting to hack points) and the rest of the time a kin kat is a good choice. Your list is good though Sry for spelling & grammer i'm using a phone

Well, in my opinion, there is nothing wrong with playing as an assault class using a light frame (I already have a fully proto'ed med frame/assault suit).
CCP should make a different role for light frame suits. The already have "Scout", which needs to be looked at, but they can also make an "Assault" role for the light frame as well.

I cannot fit a ferroscale plate without sacrificing a lot of HP because I won't be able to fit complex ferro's. Probably can't even fit Enhanced Ferro's. I'm not trying to build a hacker/speed suit. I'm making a "light assault" suit. I'm basically trading health for a smaller hitbox (and i'm still faster than my Amarr Assault). In essence, i'd rather dodge bullets than take them. |

All of this, especially the Stamina Delay, the amount of times I've been ****** over by that ridiculous mechanic, why would they even add it in the first place?
