discuss. As far as lore is concerned, it's possible to have a "skyfire defense system" that can protect you from orbitals, but that would be over the span of an entire battlefield.
well what about a mini one?
say tech has been invented to make a small skyfire defense system over the same area an orby would cover?
you would place it the same way you place an orby and it would stay until destroyed. |

It doesn't prevent orbital bombardments, it just attacks starships. I think there was an old British war quote, "the bomber will always get through". Well, it's true in Dust 514, too. Skyfire Batteries just make it more costly to bombard.

"Skyfire Battery". When is the last time you've heard of a shield named like a weapon?
in the post is called a skyfire defense system... battery isn't used.
I just think a mechanic with a orbital deflection shield, regardless of what you call it, would be cool.
do you think it would be cool?
if so, what would you call it? how would you implement the mechanics? |
