Definitely some form of map key would be incredibly useful. It would be especially useful tied into the Warbarge map too (assuming we ever get the map and ever set foot in the Warbarge again...) |

yeah not being able to be in the warbarge makes it hard to get EVE players into the proper region for orbital strikes in factional warfare |

+1 to this.
Having a static set of coordinates for each map would be HUGELY beneficial. And it would be even more helpful if, like was said, the holo-map in the warbarge was actually functional, and the coordinates were shown as an overlay. The tactical benefits of being able to come up with a detailed plan of attack beyond "go to Alpha then Charlie" could possibly be endless.
For my Empress.
For my brethren.

Elevation could be displayed as well. If you'r in a multiple storey building, you can be in "same spot" but separated by impenetrable barrier made of pixels pretending to be concrete floor laced with nanites...
The same goes for fallen clones beacons homing in logibros. It sometimes displays 0m but you can't really tell if you'r above or below the body... You just know it's not anywhere around. And your injector knows it as well cos there is no "tap O to revive" prompt. Happened to me several times... Maybe a different color for homing syringe icon? White on spot, Blue below, Red above.
