The Elite pack Then the W.A.R. packs were announced, they are just useless disposable/consumable items, so instead I went back and purchased The Veteran pack, just to round out the BPOs that I'd get. I've also had boosters plugged in constantly since closed beta. (as these have long term benefits as SP).
The point is I have shunned the tactical packs, etc. as they i just burn through them. Or they are a mishmash of random items that I'm not going to use (weapon pack where I get ALL the base weapons, but I won't use them all, or I'm skilled into higher weapons already).
I'm obviously not shy about spending money on this game, but I want PERMANENT changes to my account / character (BPO, permanent item, long term SP/LP gains, etc).
If I had to guess, this would be most of their customer base thats actually buying stuff. I know I would not buy packs for items that have no long term effect. Most of the packs are just silly and an attempt to get those are are pretty wealthy to just splurge for the heck of it.
For us normal customers, BPOs and boosters are currently the only thing we are interested in. CCP needs to focus more on customization of suits then these buy these suits because they have a nice design, only then will buying different skins be cool.
I guess your doing alright with these new packs or else you wouldn't keep doing it? or maybe not...

CCP are making it clear they want BPOs out but the playerbase will soon make it clear they want BPOs IN.
I came up with a system of implementing BPOs into the drone infestation mode.
People have BPOs for one reason, its a free/cheap suit for when they're broke from using proto in PC or FW but since they don't consume anything they 'break' the economy of new eden as its a supply/demand thing So, Make bpos work in same way as EVE. the stations we live in have factory facilities. To get materials to build the suits/weapons/lavs you go run missions in drone infestation where you're given drone salvage (as well as SP and isk) which can be used to build items from BPOs. Make it so the build time works out at 20 suits per day, 30 weapons per day 5 vehicles per day per BPO. introduce Manufacturing Skill which gives +1 manufacturing job per level (total 5) and Manufacturing Efficiency which increases prodution 10% per level (total 50%) meaning with both at level 5 you could produce 150 dropsuits per day for 'free' when market opens up then obviously we can buy/sell drone materials and/or the suits to new players who want cheap suits in order for us to fund our proto gear for PC/FW. also allow trading of BPOs so it adds another aspect of the game for new players that want to help increase their income. they can aim to buy a bpo and start producing items to help them earn money ingame or to get started
Adding needless Eve type mechanics to dust? I'd rather not. Some sort of very cheap suit or easy to generate over time would most likely be acceptable by most.
