So I had an interesting conversation with a scout player. I told him to work on dampening because I was scanning him, he said it's tough to dodge proto scanners, I told him I was using advanced scanners, then the madness pursued.
He said he has Level 3 in Minmatar Scouts and Level 3 in profile dampening. So his profile should be,
45 dB * 0.85 * 0.94 = 35.955 dB
Advanced scanners have a precision of 36 dB. Since 35.955 < 36, I should not of been able to scan him. Yet I did. Only thing I can think of is CCP is for whatever reason rounding his signature up to 36 dB, which should not be happening.

Yeah, I had to go to damp 4 to passively evade.
Sucks. In the case of a tie, the win goes to the scanner, not the scout.

Minmatar assault racial bonus = 25% sidearm clip size at level V
Flaylock Pistol = 3 rounds in the clip
Minmatar assault racial + Flaylock Pistol = 3 x 1.25 = 3.75
Flaylock gets 4 rounds in a clip with a Minmatar assault at proto level.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

And actually, the thought of Uprising 1.6 giving 150 more HP to my Commando (or actually 180 since I have Armor IV and Shield IV) has got me in a tough spot, not sure what I want to do. Half my playtime today was commando and the other half was scout. Tough decision. Either way, I'm using a gimped suit

I can understand that, but clearly mathematically his profile signature was lower than my scan precision, yet I was still picking him up. Did you even read the OP?

My proto Cal. Ass. has lvl 5 Damp. and only blocks milita crap (which no one runs and I waist 1m SP). Now I run Cal. Logi. with more damage output, HP, a scanner and complex damp. which makes far fewer people see me. Go figure.
