This was the first thing I noticed when I started playing Dust and quite liked that part of it, even if it's not that big.
Heck, even for EVE they explain why you can see your ship in third person, because you are actually viewing it from the perspective of a small camera drone that follows your ship. They also explain why you can hear sounds in space; it's all artificially generated to help the pilot's awareness.
CCP does a great job with making their games make sense.

CCP does a great job with making their games make sense. I've always been a fan of the lore, no matter how small or irrelevant it was to the actual gameplay. Everything in the game has some sci-fi explanation, like the two examples you mentioned regarding seeing your ship in third person and hearing in space. Hell, you can even see all of the effects such as cap neutralizers, remote reps, etc to enhance the pilots ability, though they may not be visible to the human eye.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe your suit when you equip such things has a "dispenser" type item that is basically a micro-nanite factory (as in it makes the item on the spot instead of having to lug the finished product) in very little time (nearly instant for items of this scale) but only has enough supplies (and the 'template') for so many of that specific item.
That's how you can get more at nano-hives, because it replenishes the nanites for those micro-fabricators.

So I thought of something else. In other games like COD of BF, dead bodies disappear because there's not enough memory to store that sort of information. In Dust, you body also disappears, but they explain it as nanites decomposing your body. They even added an animation for this, I'm sure you are all familiar with the sight of nanites decomposing downed enemies.

CCP does a great job with making their games make sense. I don't because you cannot write in the idea of sacrifice into a clone soldier bio nor impress the sacrifice and dedication of other clone soldiers knowing they cannot truly die, which is why I like to think our implants can sporadically give our and that death even as an supposedly immortal merc can indeed be final.

The way the implement works, it can transfer your conscious to another body, even at the moment of death. The key word here is "even." So if you died before you got the implant, then it is too late, you are dead. If you died with the implant, but there is no clone to transfer your conscious to, then you are dead.
The term "immortal" is a misnomer in that sense. In lore, our characters can die.

If Dust, you are spawned through a small portal or at a clone reanimation unit. In other games, you just magically appear.

Squad spawns are certainly unique in Battlefield.

CCP does a great job with making their games make sense. Once we get drones in Dust, I want that third person camera.
In other news, I don't think any game has properly justified why every time there is jeep-like vehicle, the gunner's turret has absolutely no protection... seriously, what possible reason? Is it really that hard to slap at least an armor plate or something on the front of the turret? |

Gravimetric Cores, the ships pull themselves through space and are susceptible to gravity wells but pinching the gravitational distortion just right allows for, acceleration gates in dead pockets that there isn't enough gravity to pool up, breaking out of the current universe to enter a warp tunnel and achieve FTL speeds and tearing apart the universe for cyno jumps. All without the need of inertia dampeners.
