As the title says it, what's it called? The pound has pence, the euro has cent, the dollar has something, what about ingame isk? Does it share a name with the real world isk? Does real world isk have a name for it? Is it Isklet? I like isklet.

Isklet sounds very appropriate. I will transfer 2 isklets to your account for the great suggestion.

I just like to clarify, the Dollar has the cent, and the Euro copied it

A few ISK is enough to feed a planetside family for months. I personally wouldn't spend an isklet on a stick of gum.

It had something to do with how isklet sounded a bit too cute since Quote:Money is the root of all evil. |

You have no idea how valuable one single ISK is, which is why 300K of them can buy you a frigate, etc.
I could live the rest of my life comfortably in peace with the mediocre 16 Million I have left to me. If I sold all of my assets I could live like a king.

But I've seen a few gallons of water in EVE. They cost more than a few ISK. I think an ISK is worth approx. 0.5 USD. That would put a cheap scrambler pistol at about $750 USD, which is quite reasonable.

So according to wikipedia, the Icelandic ISK historically would call 0.01 of an ISK an "eyrir", with plural being "aurar". Though the latter is very similar to 'aurum'. |

If a single cubic meter of bottled water costs as much as you say it does, how does anyone survive planetside. I have a hard time believing such a small amount of water costs somebody a couple months of income. That doesn't make any sense at all.

I'm pretty sure they don't sell water in singular cubic meters.
Perhaps amongst Immortals water is vastly more important consumable, or perhaps like in reality people pay their taxes and bills and water is essentially accessible by them at any time.

I don't remember where this was written, but I believe that the estimated value of ISK to local currencies is something like: 10,000 ISK represents the amount of wealth an average person will accumulate in their entire lifetime.
And I believe they are also called isk cents (or just, cents), being a generic term for 1/100 of something. |
