I've got to admit, Amarr blue dots are mentally challenged.

It also doesn't help that CCP sells the Amarr as the "bad guys."
In the Gallente description, CCP laments about democracy and freedom and equality to the point where I expect an epic guitar riff to play with someone going GALLENTE!!!!! F*** YEAHHHHHHHH!!11ONE!
The Minmatar description goes on to say that they were enslaved by the Amarr but rebelled and are somewhat still fighting for their freedom and liberation from the Amarr. Who doesn't like rebels and fighting for freedom? A person reading this becomes empathetic and wants to "help" the Minmatar in their fight for freedom.
The Caldari description basically states they have a bunch of megacorporations that have a hand in everything and hold a lot of power so it isn't really positive or negative.
The Amarr....
Religious - yep you just turned off Atheists and agnostic people Slavers - you just pretty much turned off everyone else Conquerors (the only TRUE Empire) - Pretty sure no one liked the conquistadors.
Meanwhile CCP fails to mention that without the Amarr and their vastly superior tech only inferior to the Jove, that the other races wouldn't have immortal soldiers, jump gates, the Minmatar would practically be living in mud huts, etc etc.
Go forth, conquer in my Name, and reclaim that which I have given."

They also fail to admit that the Minmatar were slavers too.
The thing is most FPS players don't have the brain power nor mindset to really get into the lore and delve deeper into the back stories of the four races. Yes, you, I, and a select few do have the mental capacity to really understand and KNOW the races, but most other players in DUST probably follow the following method to choose their faction....
1) Open DUST 2) Scroll around through factions 3) Look at how the suits look 4) "Oh that one looks cool, I'll pick "x" faction" 5) Fail to read description and chooses faction who's dropsuit looks the "coolest"
