I'm switching over to this weapon to kill dropships and, atleast for me, it is already hard enough to predict movement, speed and delay for a distant target flying in the sky. Any accuracy changes over a long distance will result in huge misses.
Edit: And i'd also like the range to remain the same. Do whatever you want with splash, I don't care about that. Dropships need some from of survivability and distance is one form CCP seems to be moving to with burst tanking. You should miss at long range because you do devastating damage when you do hit. Pixel level accuracy is OP for a high damage long range weapon. No weapon should have all three.
I was fully expecting a damage nerf to bring the forge more inline with swarm and plasma. It seems that they are only doing a splash nerf, so I'm probably going to completely switch over to the forge for all vehicles. Sad that I have maxed sp swarms.
I guess they don't need pixel level accuracy, but I'm already aiming infront of a dropship's movement, so It seems like it's all an educated guess as to where to aim. I just don't want accuracy to be so bad that it becomes more of a luck shot and not an educated guess. |

OP suggestion is over the top by a long shot, the new splash nerf is fine and was surprisingly acceptable for re-balancing it.

We're talking about a round travelling at 340 meters a second. (v) If your talking about a round of say 100g (m) then the amount of energy is staggering.
Put simply the equation is: E=1/2mv^2
E=1/2 x 0.1kg x (340m/s)^2
E=4620800J or 4.6 Megajoules of energy.
To try to put it in simple terms 1 MJ is about the equivalent of being hit by a 1 ton vehicle at 100 mph. But this is 4 times that and over a vastly smaller area. Think how little energy it is to push a pin into a board because your spreading force over a smaller area. In terms of electricity it is over 4,000,000 watts a second
So really? Just the shields?
