So in an HAV, the gunners are presumably completely protected (from small arms) somewhere inside the HAV. These gunners also presumably use a camera attached somewhere on the turrets (big and small) themselves. In addition, the gunners are presumably remotely controlling the turrets while sitting down.
In a Dropship, the gunners can be seen looking at a little panel operating the turrets. Since the gunners themselves don't manually rotate, why is the area directly in front of them open so they can be killed? Why is that area open in the first place?
Almost equally as confusing, why can I not crouch while I'm in the Dropship? The doors literally make a little hit box that says, "Shoot me in the face!" and I can't return fire. Who was the ashbag who decided not to put windows on the damn thing?
In an LAV, the gunner has to manually control and rotate with the turret, yet still uses the camera on the turret... WTF?
So there's not real reason for there to be an open space where the gunner can be shot in the Dropship. By the same token, there's no reason for a guy to manually control an LAV turret; by the logic of the HAV and the Dropship, the passenger could operate the turret!
Please either provide an explanation or fix this logic error; thank you. |

The gunners in dropships and LAVs are not essential for the vehicles survivability, however speed is. |
