Yeah I know you guys will do that, don't even think about doing that.
Its kind of hard to monopolize items that are random generated for everyone by just playing the game...... Honestly nobody really knows whats going to happen. This sort of thing only happens in eve because a big corp takes over the PRODUCTION of a certain item. They create a scenario where only their corp is capable of making a certain item, and then drive the price way up. Buying and selling can work, but in Dust's case its kind of difficult simply because of 1.) THE sheer volume of weapons that will be for sale on the market. and 2.) the fact that these weapons can be random generated and nobody really "needs" them to begin with.
so will a monopoly happen? Maybe. But like I said, its really hard to monopolize a resource you don't truly control.

and your right about that. But lets be realistic here. That's NOT a monopoly. And most people that aren't snipers have huge stockpiles of extra officer weapons (thales) that they themselves don't use. I imagine theres going to be a lot of in house trading done (in house meaning corporation trade). Sure some people might want to sell, but for the most part I imagine guy A (with thales) will talk to guy B (with balacs) and be like
"yooooooo dude, you got a balac, I got a thale, lets trade" Followed up by "yeahhhh mannnn your in my corp so I don't see any reason not to" and that's the end of the transaction.
