Sopretty much exactly what the topic says, If good FPS players come into DUST and make their own corpbut don;t know anyone from EvE can they survive. If not how do they make connections with EvE corps? Especially since we have very little influence on EvE atm.
If this is in the wrong forum please feel free to troll. |

Bear in mind, one must be skilled and versed in Dust not only in its mehchanics, but far enough into its skill progression tree to be able to hold one's own.
Let me rephrase...
Are OB necessary in PC. And If so how does one get eve connections. If not how would one still get eve connections.
I mean our forums are separate and I don't trust local chat.
(Assuming we have grinded the SP and ISK and all that stuff)
Because I think this EvE connection OB thing would make certain people hesitant thinking they can never enter competitive play until they network. |

So has CCP thought about helping social interactions between the 2. Like Unified forums? Honestly an FPS player really wouldnt want to make connections. It is hard enough for them to organize good teams. |

To be in PC you should be forced to have any EVE backing to survive. PC should be an "advanced" game mode that really ties the two games together. Where its paramount you have both sides, you could still have a small impact if you didn't have EVE connections, but it would require >>>>>isk/manpower than currently. Otherwise you can join FW or pub games. It waters down the experience for everyone otherwise.
In upcoming patches the standard orbital strikes will be removed from PC and FW games. So you will need eve side backing to perform those actions. But orbitals really aren't currently all that game changing.
Its not difficult to get EVE side connections. There are many alliances out there that already have EVE backing. The only issue currently is the lack of benefit from either entity. So the advantages are little for both EVE and Dust.
Ok and how did they get that backing...some of their foot soldiers must have a toon in EvE.
And honestly isthere a difference between FW and Pubs...WHat if I want to run with a full set of 16 friends?

Yeah, when this happens all bets are off, but expect FW to become much more of a thing for corps long before we start talking about War Barges.
Yea and many FPS players will be turned off by this...No competitiveness whatsoever. And how dumb wil lit be if we are in the warbarge and get shot down...It sounds cool but it wont be |

Okay see that helps me. I understand what CCP wants...But they need to give us avenues..One of them is giving incentives to EVE players...But what about avenues to communicate? Like a single forum.
I am fine with making alliances with EVE corps...Heck I like the social atmosphere and based on my other mmo experience I will prolly make friends for a lifetime.
But so far all I see is what CCP wants but not giving us avenues to actually do it.
So I came here to ask if I was missing something and of avenues they provided and I didnt know. |

And honestly isthere a difference between FW and Pubs...WHat if I want to run with a full set of 16 friends? Our corp used to be in a EVE backed alliance (ROFL) but there aren't any benefits of an EVE based organization currently. We helped developed ROFL before dust was even released in hopes of it being worth while. A year later and alliances still have no purpose in dust. Which is a crying shame. Eventually there will be a difference between FW and Pubs. Soxs4 and team true grit has been working on changing FW to a non-isk generated game style. So they will give LP for games won. Also FW won't have access to regular tactical strikes, only eve based strikes. I would suggest any dust based corps reach out to EVE FW corps and get discussions going, thats going to be the best route of getting established to eve corps currently. Team deploy is also "in the works" but likely won't come for another couple months. You can technically sync into FW games if you wanted. So its not too big of a deal, just a quality of life change.
Okay we all know we need to reach out...but HOW? I have heard the eve-vegas stuff...But no where do I see they will help in communications. |

We'll maybe you need to look at dropping your current alliance tags and join one up and running already eve side because there are upstart and maintenance cost involved pricing being I think 1 billion to start and 100 million for up keep. I know of a few not many but a few eve side alliances loooking to pair up with dust bunnies for the coming changes. As far as how to go about getting in said alliance? Just in the time this thread has been running you could have made a bunner email address new trail eve account got on you local/militia chat ect in game on eve while accessing the eve forums and done some work to find a suitable match. Will the time and effort fit the reward entailed? From what i understand about dust uni its districts are not used for the traditional idea of what PC was meant to be maybe its time to just start asking for donations and switch to FW. I have given you a plausible means tho of keeping what your currently have lets see if you have the drive to implement it. Edit: all chat channels accessible on eve for the most part can be accessed on dust so you could in theory use the preferred dust comms for the same purpose ... and not all eve pilots sound like robots just those using there cheap laptop built in mics some spend equal to or more than what we pay for a high end ps3 head set and sound just as clear as we do.
Oh I do plan to drop D-Uni..IF my Cstrike friends to join...but one of the thingsthey are hesitant about competive play is that NONE of us know EVE players...we know plenty of WOW players lol.

.
So you're telling me Random EvE pilots/Alliances will just say SURE we can join together...just like that...without ever meeting them..
Does networking in NEW EDEN that easy...??
And this is about getting new players in. How does one convince one's cstrike or traditional FPS players that allthat **** is worth it. Because honestly it is overwhelming to a FPS player. Now I can just ask them to try the game out see how mechanics and shooting is. I am sure theyll like it.
Then lets say they like it...We make Trial eve accts (hassel) goto the forums and introduce ourselves...ur telling me alliances would jump to help us? If so I wish getting jobs was that easy in RL.
Here is how I see it. Most alliances would just buy a ps3 (which would becheap after ps4 launch..DL dust...and have their dust branches rather than funding a dust corp. |

That I can see might be a bit of an issues as CCP really has done them selves no favors with the minimal ammount of marketing they have dont at this point I really think they are hoping that when the ps3 goes down to $100 not to long after the ps4 release that the dust/uncharted bundle will be there to pick up there slack only time will tell... Again most corps planning to be here for the long haul have a training corp in place teaching new players from the ground up or at least guide them in the right direction is a must. We (anon) have such a corp ours is called unkn0wn killers it serves as our training corp for noobs and also as our quarantine for higher sp players. Those high sp players generally want to make the jump to anon asap but it is required to run with them/us in a corp setting to make sure they mesh well with our guys before giving them the go ahead on there anon tag switch requires a unanimous approval from training officers. If your interested in speaking with our minor league corp about you and your friends coming on board with unknown that could be arrange thus eliminating your need for eve side recruitment please join our public channel : A.N.O.N.Y.M.O.U.S Ask for an officer you'll be put in touch with myself of one of our other board of directors members and we can give you the lay out of how things work in our camp in a little more detail. That being said don't expect a hand out you'll still be required to make it through basic training but it was it is . If not I wish you all the best luck in the future going it on your own as you will need it. -Egypt
