This is a poor game.
Both technically and in implementation.
We were promised a full set of dropsuits, basic weapons and racial tank variants 6 months ago.
Before that we were promised the ability to move and control the MCC and direct troops on the ground.
We've received none of that.
Instead we have a badly coded shooter on a very bad engine which has needed 6 months to implement reasonable hit detection.
We've seen none of the basic content promised.
We're still full to the brim with bugs
And we officially released early this year. The "It's just a beta" thing doesn't fly anymore.
Worse still is that due to a roadmap that get's rejigged every couple of weeks, nothing gets finished.
When you compare that to any other shooter on the market which at a primary point has atleast working hit detection, shows how bad this game is.
The ONLY thing this game has going for it is the Eve license. Eve is a great world with awesome design. The fitting system is great but is massively basic since it doesn't lend well to a twitch based shooter and balancing issues with that.
This could be a great game. It could be. It isn't right now. And it needs some serious pushes by CCP head office to really get this going.
At the moment I think CCP have avowed all knowledge of Dust since they don't mention it anymore. Not to mention the Vegas event was more like a long winded apology and showed nothing of real value other than more broken promises.
People like to blame a lot on CCP Jian but you have to remember that this is a company and not just one person.
Also to the OP:
If you don't want to have a discussion about whether this game is good or not don't post it on a forum and whine about conflicting opinions.
Post it on your life journal or something.
Otherwise deal with it. |

Dust514 is still the best FREE fps on the market right now, where else can you find a free fps with monthly updates from the company that make it that looks as good at this game does?
It's the best free FPS on PS3 maybe.
PS2 and Blacklight blow Dust out of the water and are out on PS4 for free later this year and both are free to play on PC right now.
The only reason it's the best FPS on the PS3 is because I don't think there are any others. |

Lip service doesn't help anyone.
It certainly won't fix the situation the game is in.
Honest hard truths and options to fix it help.
If you want to pat the devs on the back because you think they've done a good job send them a care basket or something.
Demanding that people not highlight the obvious problems with the game because you're afraid of hurting CCP's feelings will get us and this game no where.
In fact it's probably far more harmful to the game then pointing out it's flaws and asking them to be fixed.
edit: Welcome to the adult world. |

What does that have to do with anything?
If it was subscription based the game would die. Blacklight and PS2 are not subscription based.
(If you're making light of needing to pay for PS+ on PS4 to play multiplayer, Sony have said you don't need PS+ to play multiplayer on free to play titles like Blacklight, Warframe and Planetside 2).

But what you say doesn't help anyone either. Have a wonderful day.
Pointing out flaws and giving wasys to correct them as I have is more constructive to this game than this thread just wanting to pat CCP on the back for a bad job.
Let me give you some life advice,
Reward good decisions. Give feedback and direction on bad decisions. Don't reward bad decisions or else people will keep making them.
You have a wonderful day as well. |
