So...how about all us tankers play some ambushes nonstop a day when the changes come out. The infantry will probs stop fighting in ambush after a few hours and we can have some good tank battles like we all want.
Lol. Silly wiki swarms are now mlt swarms :P AND no yolo scouts with av grenades to splode us instantly!:)
It'll be a golden age again :)
Gonna spec rails. Anyone going missiles? |

Balance? Hahe. Moments of invulnerability means 2 things: bad tanker get worse and good tankers don't die. I will be looking for you, checkmate. I'll stomp you into the ground in every possible way. We will allow no opportunity for u to kill us. We will only engage with gardeners on and replace ourselves with fresh tanks when the turn off. You will fight the best tankers rolling in packsin the best tanks money can bbuy. Keep in mind that all of the best tankers have been in PC long enough to accumulate hundreds of millions of isk. I can run as many tanks as I want as long as I want and if I need money, I'll do some PC for a night and suddenly be rich again BC good tankers are few and far between.
You are afraid and we know it. The iron wave is coming. There with be no survivors. Six tanks going 30/0 in a skirmish? Possible. Hahajaha |

AV will probs be more fun. In chrome it was awesome. We would role in four man tank hunter killer groups. Av grenades, 2 swarms, and proxy mines. We would bait them into a narrow pass and when they ran into swarms of swarms, they'd back into mines forward of them and more swarms behind them. There was nowhere to go but explode. And once their hardeners shut off...boom! It was great. Tanks will still be solo able when their gardeners come off and nobody realizes that. Lol. |

lol. av may get a slight buff, honestly. i have crunched the numbers and since all tanks are active defense tanks, they will be soloable when their hardeners turn off. The problem with that is that unlike in chrome, tanks dont glow when their hardeners are on, anymore, so its impossible to tell. I would be in favor of bringing that back, as it benefits tankers, too, in killing other tanks, which is what I'll be doing. I talk like I'm an infantry pub stomper, but that's never been me. I play PC to kill other tanks bc it's what I'm good at.
My perfect idea for AV would actually be to buff the **** out of the modules and keep AV where it is, so that when hardeners are one, tanks can't be killed unless their is like a wall of swarms and forges coming at them, however, when the modules turn off, they are easily solo'd. This way, only the good tankers will do well.
Also keep in mind that HP regen is very slow on tanks now (especially armor), and even though they will take longer to kill when in active tank death mode, they will be out of the fight for awhile, and even considering that shield tanks can go from 0 shields to 1950 in a second, that only works once in a long period of time, so it won't be game breaking by any means. Tanks will be more of battering rams or fire support now, and not unstoppable death machines that JUST KEEP GOING. This is what I thought they should've been all along.
A brawler should just go in and smash up everyone for 30 second or so, then pull out and let the infantry do their thing while he takes like a minute to rep back up. However, if there was an ambush waiting for him on his egress route, he wouldn't stand a chance. Even with AV being nerfed, 3 swarms will still kill a madrugar with full health and armor hardeners off- that takes 0.9 seconds, if nobody checked. AV will require tactics now, which is good, because so will tanks. Tankers will want to cover eachother when working in pairs and will actually require more infantry work to win because tanks WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HOLD GROUND ANYMORE. That's right- it is impossible because there are no passive modules or OP armor reps.
I'm so excited about this, if nobody can tell. It actually will mean tanks won't do so hot in ambushes anymore because of the ridiculous cooldown and slow regen or lack thereof if they are being shot at. I have a feeling that we'll see a lot of tanks in ambushes in the first week, then a quick decline as people realize that they have to be able to get somewhere safe or they die.
Also, a good way to tell if a GOOD tanker's hardeners are off is if he starts to retreat when he is doing very well. This doesn't work with dumb tankers, as they think they're invincible, but the seasoned pilots will only engage when they know they have every possible advantage, which is why the 'good' tankers seem invincible. I don't fight proto AV in pubs- ever. I just run infantry. However, if i see a lack of competant AV on the red team, i'll call down a tank and wreck house because i know i can get away with it. |

tanks will take too long to rep HP to go 30/0 anymore without redline sniping and hitting every shot they fire.
Tanks will be harder to kill, yeah, but they wont get as many kills. |

this thread is not about balance. it is about AV is nerfed. tanks are buffed. Basically, we have all been with gimped tanks forever and we will be playing Tank 514. I'm very happy. Stop arguing the the Luokos and Checkmates, and just enjoy the fact that they cant solo us anymore and we will make everypony cry with our super awesome OP death machines. |
