With certain dropsuit upgrades and actual dropsuits, some players do not show up on scanners.
This should not be allowed.
This one fellow had 17 kills to 0 and he didn't have a scanner image ever, that I saw.

No, unfair. I'm not a tank, but I'm not a newbie either. Unless you were looking right at him, he was invisible - this game is not designed to work with characters like that.

Any idea if he had skills to dampen his profile? Or maybe he was using profile dampeners?
It is a part of the game to be stealthy electronically.
Of course if this player was a heavy then different story. |

It's not unfair. That player just knew how to counter scanners. |

its part of the game. if your butt hurt now, they might be making a cloaking system and that's a much larger issue than not showing up on a scanner |

If you don't bring a scanner, people don't show up on radar.

Was he a Snipper too far away to be scanned? We don't know what you are complaining about without more information. |

By sheer likelyhood, if he was a scout, he's weak to begin with, and if he has a dampener... that's one out of 5 slots being used to dodge the zergatron (a device used to locate people not dying with the pack, ultimately leading the pack to zerg rush that person in hatred). Use your eyes more, instead of that little radar thing. If you find him before he gets within 20m, he's screwed, because his tank has been sacrificed so as to not be zerg-rushed. +1 for viable tactics! |

I have to agree with you. There are systems in place to hide yourself from scans. What use are they if they don't work. Not everyone uses them and usually people go more for defense or offense. So finding someone geared for stealth and using it well is actually a good thing. I personally never use a scanner so I HAVE to rely on my eyes. If someone else is using one thats a plus, but still my eyes are the first thing I use. |

With stacked complex dampeners it is quite possible within game mechanics to be "invisible" unless you look at the player, and if they don't move, in a black suit in the shadows he just might be invisible. It is well within the game mechanics and is most definitely allowable. Check out the skill next time you are needing something to spend points on, it is well worth it. |

What scanner were you using? With standard, it is possible to avoid those scans in a logisuit with maxed skills and no other fittings. With advanced, it is possible to avoid those scans by fitting a single complex dampener. |

.....
what is the world coming too?!..
you are complaining about a single individual player who managed to counter a scanner.
those senses can be used with in the game.
such as sound and sight.
the others.. well they rnt really useful for anything other than eating your food and holding a controller..
along with hit indicators. which should tell u where you r being shot at from.
no massive need to rely on active scanners all day.
i dont see much reason to complain about anything here.
they r not invisible if u can see them with your eyes. |

1. Stealth is a legitimate tactic just like camping. 2. Not everyone here want to line up for you in a single row like colonial-era British Red Coats. 3. It's not unfair. That player is sacrificing armor in favor of stealth. If you see him in front of you, you can take him down in a few shots. 4. What scanner are you using? If you're only using a standard-level scanner, there is your problem. 5. THIS GAME IS INTENTIONALLY DESIGNED BY CCP TO WORK WITH STEALTH PLAYERS. In case you didn't hear the news, CCP is already working on a cloaking device to be fitted on a suit as an equipment.
CCP, please fix the Nova Knives. Thank you.

I've had three games like that in my SCOUT SUIT MADE FOR STEALTH the other day!
It's got a profile dampener on top of high skills, so I'm not gonna get scanned unless you pull out that OP duvoll AR- er active scanner! and also I'm a very good Nova Knifer, if you don't see me your dead. since the scanner came out, its been very fun because they don't seem to believe the WARNING the scanner gives them when I don't get scanned!
simple tip, don't get tunnel vision. |
