Is it because he's "popular"?
Is it because he swore a lot?
Is it because he is (or was) in a top name corp?
I'm not saying I don't get frustrated with the game sometimes. Like when I'm trying to track a Kb/M Super Strafer with my DS3 and it's deadzone limitations, or when I'm faced off against 3 full squads of coordinated proto bears, and my team has 1 squad (mine) and 10 fish, fresh from the Academy.
All I'm saying is his post didn't warrant the amount of attention it received. Are we in High School? Is this a popularity contest? Did he provide any real good feedback or suggestions on how to make the game better? Did he present them in a manner acceptable to the general public, or was his post just an immature outlashing at a group of DEVs who are genuinely only trying to provide us with a decent F2P FPS using the resources they have available?
What other things has he attempted to accomplish for DUST 514? That I know of, all he and his corp do is ruin the NPE by protostomping the tiniest bit of hope any new player might have been trying to hold out for this game.
Oh, and he might have done a smidget of forum trolling.
So, Meh... What made his post deserving was saying what needed to be said. Name one thing in that OP that was not an issue caused by poor development choices or inability to follow player feedback. Bugs.
You can't plan on bugs, and due to that it is neither a development choice, and due to the weird set up of updates means they can only fix the big bugs once a month.
Lack of content
Between splitting time with fixing the bugs results in less time available to work on new content.
Balance.
You can only test balance in game, and in-house testing only works to a point. Between fixing bugs, and working on new content it leaves even less time for the DEVs to figure out what number seems correct, and the to recode the weapon with the stats.
Delays
Due to time being split between all 3 of the above, and somewhat optimistic time suggestions results in things taking longer then expected. Hence, ghaving to push content back as to not release completely unfinished features.
All of us poor players seem to underestimate the intricities of coding, and assume that CCP doesn't know what their doing, when in actuality we underestimate the time energy and cost to create new items. |
