I think it could totally work. Maybe give a way to balance things out and make things more interesting. Interesting idea for av. Instead of just pounding away at a tank. Better to trap, drain cap and destroy. Tank with all mods running would be hard to kill until its cap runs out.

Yep. I'd love to see capacitors for active modules.
Introduce a swarm variant which drains cap (Give it the 400m lock on) on a commando suit, then switch to the damage swarms once the tank is nullified to finish it.
Dropships with cap drained should lose a lot of power in upward thrusters meaning pilots are essentially stalled, but should still be able to glide to a landing.

I think that would make for more interesting vehicle gameplay, particularly in the tactics and teamwork required to use or defeat vehicles.
E.g, make it so that:
- A vehicle with cap can pretty easily out-repair two AV users
- A vehicle without cap crumples like a wet tissue to a single AV user
In other words, make it so a single AV user paired with a single cap drainer is far more effective than two AV users. Once we throw stasis webifiers, etc into a mix, we'd have a situation where a well organised team of infantry would be a terrifyingly lethal to vehicles, but disorganised rabble would get mopped up fairly easily.

Please discuss I've never seen a better way to promote redline rail sniping. |

I would love it
Problem is infantry would cry for ******* years if i could perma run my reps or resistance mods and it would get nerfed harmmered to the wall and be made useless |

Basically buying time until you can get out of the hotzone. A repper so strong you can tank incoming damage would only last a little while before cap runs out.
I agree though it would be tricky to find the right balance |

My ship for lvl4 missions has plenty of cap, i have max cap skills to boot i think and i can perma run 3 resist mods and pulse my booster with 4min time limit
Just imagine if i could perma rep 2 resistance mods and pulse my repper as needed, infantry would cry through the roof
No matter how vehicles change to infantry they are always OP |

All I know is that the devs would find a way to turn any sort of capacitor system into another vehicle nerf, at which point I'd probably be able to survive longer in a medium frame. |

Knowing how CCP likes to do things, I'm sure people would find some crazy cap stable builds that allow tanks to be really powerful almost indefinitely.
I would love to see it implemented so I can find little ways to abuse it. |

This is what should happen, but Wolfman does not want to do it.
He wants vehicles to be based around a one dimensional ten second hulk mode instead, and have a worthless paper tank the rest of the time. Personally I believe he is doing this because he feels as if the core gamer must be appeased, and they are too stupid to understand something like a capacitor.
He may be right. The core gamer is pretty damn stupid. |

while it would be cool. i can't say I'm a huge fan. managing a capacitor in the middle of a firefight seems like a pain in the ass. TTK is much longer in eve so capacitors are more easily managed. |

He may be right. The core gamer is pretty damn stupid. The "Core gamer" won't invest 10 million SP into tanks after getting soloed with standard AV grenades in a Soma
Therefore, the "Core gamer" can go back to their AR + (Caldari/Gallente) medium frame while worrying about their K/Dr |

If vehicles don't have Capacitors in Dust, they should remove them from vehicles in Eve.
Consistency demands it. Those who want to be vehicle operators will learn how to manage their capacitors.
Hell, TBH, IMHO, dropsuits should have Capacitors too. |
