For instance, I just played a lovely match where the enemy called out 2 Falchions. These lovely Falchions completely decimated all of the infantry before they could get AV weaponry and destroyed the Depots before we could respawn. One of the Falchions disappears behind a wall and never is seen again. This is great, because tanks are supposed to be hard to destroy. We respawn with Swarm Launchers and proceed to drain it's health to a sliver, at which point it strategically flees around the corner of a building using Nitro and Hardeners (strategic outfitting!).
I round the corner with my Swarm Launcher in hand and what do you know, the pilot is a genius! He gets the RDV to magically discombobulate his tank back to whence it came, free of charge, instantly! This was great, because the infantry were now stranded with Swarm Launchers and Scrambler Pistols against Heavy Machine Guns. Now, we die and swap back the infantry weapons since no tanks remain. The pilot, ever so clever, knows this will happen, and redeploys his tank within twenty seconds, fully repaired for free from the brink of fiery destruction!
This happens 10 times and we have the joy of being ping-ponged between AV and infantry weaponry until our whole squad is decimated. Luckily, we win because the pilot wouldn't step out of his precious diamond encrusted missile launching brick to capture the terminal. Of course, we all lose hundreds of thousands of ISK in this endeavor, despite winning, while the tanker lives to tank another day with his supply of instantly discombobulating tanks. This is obviously completely fair that tankers can retreat their tanks 20m behind a wall using their heightened speed over infantry and instantly mitigate any possible loses.
I love CCP. They are masters of game design. They are currently removing BPOs so that players can really feel that sense of loss, kind of like how our whole team really felt that sense of loss. The tanker didn't have any risk whatsoever since no one wanted to spec millions of SP into AV when they can barely kill infantry, but this is perfectly balanced. If we had specced into Proto AV we would've decimated the HAV in seconds, which is also perfectly balanced. "............

this is a perfect argument FOR proto swarms. as many of you know, either from squading with me, or being on the recieving end of my swarms, i am a card carrying tank hunting breakfast snack many tankers despise on the field. i use my swarm for installations, vehicles, and most importantly DERP SHIPS. if you reduce my damage, and the range, and basically cut the effectiveness of my PROTO weapon i spent MILLIONS of sp to SKILL INTO, well...i just dont get it. obviously there are beast tanks, nitro , reps , and SKILLED tankers that i commend. as well as dropship pilots...afterburners, reps, ONCE AGAIN SKILLED PILOTS, i just cant kill so easily with even proto av. THATS THE GAME. ive put time and sp into this skill. of course its OP.....so is the tank described above. so what ur telling me is i have to be in almost assault rifle range of a tank to kill it, with a limp di$# nerfed launcher, assaulting a vehicle thats got an effictive range of the whole fuc**ng map, and be successful. i guess for the dropships, since my clone can probably throw peas at it and be more effective than 175 meters, ill carry a slingshot. WTF r u guys thinking? theres not many people at all fully speccd into this weapon, so y do this? and im flattered if ur doin it just for me....lmao...at any rate, if u guys actually played and got ur asses handed to u on a map where theres 4 tanks rollin around, decimating everything, u would feel different about my av support. even the vehicle stats ur giving out dont matter, its still op while its rolling, and without av to take it out we r gonna be in the same position. they hit the red, recall, instant op again. nerfing swarms is none to bright guys. |

dont throw peas at you?...lol...i dont complain about too many things, i understand the need for balance. point being im one of three people in a corp of over 200 with proto, skilled up av. surely swarms are not so much a problem as say..assault forge guns. swarms only lock onto vehicles, and it takes more skill than many know to be a proficient av user......im fully expecting a slingshot replacement tho, which i will fully skill into and become OP. be wary tankers, FOOD FIGHT |

point taken on the need to see a tankers point of view,and i do. however, my swarm skills are all maxed, except optimization, which is 2. i am a wfecking ball. BUT...a good SKILLED tanker is a battle to take out still, as i have to dodge infantry throughout the field while chasing him, after he kicks on reps and high tails it, as a SKILLED tanker does when hes gettn nailed like that. also i do not have unlimited ammo,and am forced to drop a nano for tanks like this. the difference here is the tanker kills 30+ clones while im in the process of attempting to follow him around and throw rocks, even maxxed out. weve all seen it, we know who the players are as far as tankers go, and they know whos a threat with av. also i cant kill any infantry with a swarm, as forge guns can. so is nerfing the swarm really a fitting use of time and effort for ccp? and if its so easy as tweaking a couple things and its done,why have we waited so long for so many other thjngs?. they just nerfed it in 1.4 anyways, by reducing capacity to 3 from 5. u cant even get close to tanks like that with nades anyways, so even lai dais, which i have, are useless. i agree the tank should be a beast, but lets not work the whole game around vehicles 80% of the players arent even skilled into. |

and as far as being redlined in a tank, thats ur bad bro. the game enables u to hit cover and recall, free of charge. also if ur redlining urself ur not too good a tanker, regardless of all ur skills. but i bet ur a true menace to infantry unnaposed arent u? sounds kinda like ur a bully who cries when hes gettn his face stomped in by the scrawny nobody. if ur in the red bro, which i dont believe u should be able to run into and hide indefinately, y not rail snipe? why not use ur 'super reppers' to recharge? poor argument for tankers man, and i hope to see U in ur tank |

heres a COMPROMISE......y not give vehicles a module that they can skill into that works similar to a jammer, an active module, instead of slammin the swarm on the ground and running it over like i wanna do to my ps3 when being dominated by said tankers? |

agreed, and im not whining, simply stating a point. am i gonna get a respec due to chopping my weapon effectiveness in half? hell naw. so we r just stuck. thats over 1/4 my lifetime sp. just gone. and as far as 175 meters goes, how the hell u gonna take out drop ships? and ur gonna die 50 times before u get a tank kill at less than 175 m, which is gonna make swarms obsolete. lets simply throw marshmallows at each other, wear feathers for armor , and have pillowfights at the panel. id skill into proto pillows |

adv min logi , ishuakone assault swarm, proficiency 5, capacity 5, reload 5, 3x comp mods, and k2 nanos.
beast for sure, and more so when in proto suit, but thats my pub fit. ........whats urs? |

also, no sidearm, so its a dedicated av fit. my choice to go min,but i actually use the hacking bonus, and my hacking skills are lvl 4.... |

i can handle the damage , its the 175 thats killin me....keep in mind currently lock is 400....EFFECTIVE IS 320 OR SO......and when they increased rof then reduced ammo, so no buff at all. now we r forced to reload and 1/2 the time the tank ends up gettn away and i gotta chase it. also, is it fair that a 1 million dollar stinger takes out a 50 million dollar fighter or helicopter?.....hell ya. thats what sfm's are made for. u dont see the usa nerfn stingers cuz they op do u?....this is the fu**ing future, we're fightin on far away planets and warping thru wormholes....tanks dont have countermeasures? infantry cant deatroy them? are u fu**ing serious?.....this games a joke most times and without a fighting chance against armor its not even gonna be a funny one. |

armor tanks actually perform better than shield under swarm fire....the shield babys r easy to eat....besides...if u think ur tank is so op its swarm proof all ur doing is reinforcing my argument that they need to just leave swarms alone, they r not that op. if properly skilled into either side its a formidable adversary, at least deterrent ....so thanks for ur support. |

Considering I have personally dueled with your wyrkomi/IA swarms, I can confirm that they were OP as anything I have ever faced. The fact that I managed to kill you 6 or 7 times as your swarms dealt 2k damage a shot, even with max resist shows you something is wrong and it was all I could do to stay alive. Eventually you got me, but not after nearly 50k damage received. Think about that game. You, one person, solo'ed a milion isk and 15 million SP investment for half the game before killing me. We both ended up losing ISK, despite the skill input was a lot higher on my end given the mechanics of your weapon. You fire and forget. I rep, resist, navigate, and hope to live. As far as your worries about a swarm nerf, you should not be worried. I have worked out all the numbers and you will easily be able to solo any tank on the field with proto swarms. ive been waiting for either you, buttscratch or mort to reply, as ive dueled all of you, and you are all wicked tankers. i fully agree full proto swarms are op, and i remember that match clearly. EVENTUALLY i did get you, and yes i died multiple times and dedicated an entire game to solely hunting you down ON FOOT. i will always remember that match. and the following match, where you dominated the field and i was unable to do any damage and died sooooooo many times attempting to find and destroy you again. i further love the fact that when tankers that have played me look at the list and dont even bother calling in armor. lemme ask you this, and i DO believe tanks should be totally OP....ITS A TANK, but how many matches have you personally just ran all over everything from tanks to grasshoppers in a match and gone 30+/0 in said match.....repeatedly. and once in a while, you see someone with balls to use a full proto swarm that gives you a run for your money. i was ONE guy, in the whole game, running swarm. there SHOULD be a counter for tanks such as yours, and if i have to engage at 175 m that match woulda been different. we charged each other repeatedly, and your tank is hella fast. 175m cant compete with that, thats all im saying. |

for the record guys, id love to see the addition of flux swarms, an alternating flux/armor eating hybrid officer swarm with 6 missles a load, like the ishukone, and a 6 shot magazine. .....just sayin |

ill agree with fire and forget bein a lil op....but at 175 m ur gonna have to do a lotta that. also, they r not fixing any major issues you have brought up. just a chop in performance. and the guy rail snipin in the red is still gonna be able to do it. lets impose a timer in the red, red is strictly for spawning, very small area, and a 20 sec timer to get out. if ur gonna force me to get up close to a tank then force him onto the battlefield. and this cuts out the redline snipers also. make the red so small, right under the mcc only, that they have no choice but to fight. sick of sein tanks 500 meters away u cant kill, snipers at 600 meters, and dudes runnin circles in the red isk farming with a damn rubber band tied around thier joysticks and they r bangin the dog gaining isk. we have more important thing to worry about than nerfing a perfectly good weapon |
