If 2 minutes of waiting is met, throw squad into any game as normal.
Seriously these parameters are NOT hard to code in. And the matchmaking is currently non existent. CCP hire some people with IQ greater than 90 please.
So what do you do with the 10 million SP clone that has specced straight to one set of proto gear and the 15 million SP clone that has spread out all their points into random skills? Clone A might be running proto, and clone B not.
What about when the vets decide to run militia gear and the younger players are running full proto? Or vice-versa?
These are reasons why you cannot matchmake according to total SP, ISK, or even what active fittings a player is using. I have some proto weapons that I almost never use (choosing ADV/STD/militia), but I would still count as a protobear.
It's more complicated than you think. |

Seriously these parameters are NOT hard to code in. And the matchmaking is currently non existent. CCP hire some people with IQ greater than 90 please. so someone who has 10 mil sp and focused on a proto fit w/ proto weapon is equivalent to someone with 10 mil thrown everywhere and can only run basic gear? what if 1 squad has a lot of high sp mercs so they pit your one squad against 3 lower sp squads who work well together? and lets not forget making squads wait is like punishing them for squading so how does that make sense in a team oriented game the simple fact is there is no simple answer, and that's compounded by a small player base... but if you really think you have all the answers you should make a game and show CCP how its done.
Totally missed this and now my post is redundant... |

GROW THE **** UP. Matchmakings entire point is to throw you up against players of similar skill, in this game skill equates to how long you've played, which equates to SP. Just cause you don't wanna use real gear doesn't mean we're gonna let you stomp noobs with your ****** gear because you have way more experience. Thats what matchmaking is, telling you that you can't stomp newbies anymore and you're responsible for playing with your peers. You don't wanna play with the big boys go play COD where you'll fit in perfectly.
You're still missing the bigger picture and the complexity of the issue. It doesn't matter how many skill points one has. If they have spent every one of their skill points on vehicles, and they go into a match without a vehicle, they are still going to get stomped by someone who is running full proto gear with all the skills for said gear maxed out. Granted, maybe they shouldn't have spent all their skill points on something they didn't intend to use, but then again, you get bored playing every match the exact same way.
It really isn't about going into matches with people running better gear, it's about new players being able to avoid those matches, so they don't become jaded. I don't think anyone is arguing that even if they have +20 million SP, they shouldn't have to play against others running better gear. The reality is that the vets are arguing that everyone should be playing the same matches, because they've learned how to deal with proto gear and the newbies should stop QQing. |
